Boasting a garden and views of mountain, The New Inn 1730 is a bed and breakfast set in a historic building in Appleby, 20 km from Askham Hall. There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace.

The bed and breakfast features some units with garden views, and each unit includes a private bathroom.

The little village location was beautiful. The pub itself is such a fun quirky old building and the novelty of ‘running it’ is definitely worth doing! Also strongly recommend contacting Tirril Brewery and getting a keg fitted!

Each room has a flat-screen TV with free view channels. All rooms (excluding the Cottage) have free Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi is available in the public areas. There is also a charming 2-bedroom stone cottage ideal for families or groups of friends.

I generally choose hotels rather than Inns, but was impressed by the value for money of this one so gave it a go. I wasn't disappointed! The room was very well appointed, clean & very comfortable. Bathroom was exceptional and large compared with a lot of hotels. We stayed at the Inn for evening dinner and chose the steak which was the best we'd tasted for a long time. Highly recommended! The breakfast too was very good. Overall, I could not fault our stay, would definitely recommend this Inn and would certainly choose to stay here again.

The staff are so lovely and so helpful and friendly! Good sized and tasty breakfast, clean rooms, great location, massive flat with 4 beds, a lounge/dining/kitchen area and a bathroom. Really good value for money. Pub food for lunch was also really tasty and reasonably priced. Free parking right outside as we stopped on a sunday.
