The apartment was cute and well provided with everything we needed. Beds were comfy, couch was fairly comfy. We couldn’t get the dryer to work but hung out cloths to dry. It was spacious enough for 3 adults. There is a small lift which was great, helpful with getting our luggage and groceries up to 5th floor. The lift is tiny so you may have to do 2 trips if you have large luggage and are more than 2 adults. The location was fantastic. We arrived late evening and it felt a bit like we were in an area that might not be ideal but once out and about the next day, to our delight it was a fantastic area and we walked everywhere at all hours. A few of the sites we wanted to visit were about a 30 minute walk(but that was our choice) and hilly but there are lots of quaint places to stop for a snack or drink or just rest. Buses are easy to take as well and as I said there are lots of places close by that are amazing. We will come back to Madalena.

Location was great for visiting central Coimbra and the university. The hotel is of the Grand Old Style, and breakfast reflected that, a delightful classical dining room and settings, great service. The toaster was a bit erratic - first slice came out white, the next brown, the third on fire - but that added to the charrm!

Parking was a bit of a challenge due to ongoing roadwork outside the hotel, but once that is complete I'm sure things will be much better.

Very nice space. It is centrally located right across from the train station. The hostess is so very nice and helpful and was available for any questions.

Unfortunately, there was construction across the street but the bedroom is in the back so you won’t be woken up by the noise.

Two seperate sleeping rooms, very comfortable beds, quite neighbourhood, great host.

There is no elevator so you have to go on 3rd floor on steep stairs, which is usual in Lisbon I guess. Showering for myself was not possible. I had to bend and I dont find myself tall, 185cm only. On the otherhand, my brother 170cm was able to do so with no hassle.

The staff was nice and the location was great.

We had to extend our stay but had to book another room. The first room was a Triple room, outdated and no power sockets anywhere near the bed which in the digital age is annoying. In this room it’s annoying that we hear every time someone flushes the toilet. The second room was the so called romantic room, which was a lot better and did have everything which we expected. Still, it looked outdated and did not match the photos on booking.com for this room and package. The photos here show the Jacuzzi with bright light near a window and the reality was the corner of a dark windowless bathroom. The romantic room also includes a wine and chocolates which could be easily placed in room, instead of us having to order it. The best part are the employees, super nice and super helpful.
