As far as the room was concerned I would agree that the size of the actual room was on the small side for a king's bed. However the bed was very comfortable, the staff was super friendly and accommodating. The leisure facilities were a real bonus, and I thoroughly enjoyed my morning/afternoon swim & sauna. The breakfast was very fresh, and plentiful, and best of all the produce were locally sourced. All in all an amazing stay.

A little gem in the peak district. The hotel and pub are welcoming and friendly with excellent decor, food and drink. They even had lots of hike routes on their brochure, so you don't even have to jump in the car to get somewhere for a walk. After walking 10 miles in the rain, the crackling fire in the pub and modern room were such a comfort to return to. Huge portions of locally sourced food, and owner Ian even gave us a tour of their kitchen garden. Would highly recommend!

We loved our stay here and will definitely be back when visiting family in the area. It's a brilliant location, walking distance to the village but in a leafy quiet spot. Even though it's close to the main road, we didn't really hear much noise and slept well. The in house bar and lounge area are lovely and after a long drive, it was great to be able to get something to eat and just relax. The in room bath and facilities were all fabulous. Friendly helpful staff.

Felt secure as travelling alone. Hotel beautifully appointed and sensitively decorated to complement the age and style of the building.
Very clean. Staff friendly and helpful without being intrusive.
I was allowed to leave my car in the car park which was a huge relief for me as I did not know the city.
The house is lovely. Big open kitchen . Lounge a good size and bedrooms a good size .
Driveway tight and steep so is a bit tricky until you get used to it.
Unfortunately the neighbours dog is very barky when you go in garden . It didn't bother our dog but it could bother other dogs staying at property.
The garden is fully enclosed making it safe for your dog .
The house was clean and smelt fresh .
There were a few things that were missing from your basics ....tin/ bottle opener , hairdryer, no welcome pack to start you off , not the end of the world but would have been handy.
House has plenty of natural light which is lovely .
WiFi worked well.
The host was very helpful and always reachable. On arrival access was very easy .
Would highly recommend this house .
