The room, although sited next to a staircase and a door that was used quite regularly by other guests, was quiet and comfortable. The view was of the car park so I could keep an eye on my car. I found the tea making facilities, decor and bathroom to be perfectly comfortable. I didn't use the bar or restaurant but they seemed to be lively and welcoming when I signed in.

The staff are so friendly and accommodating. We stayed with a dog and she got so much attention. Special thanks to Lisa who went above and beyond for the whole stay, ensuring we had everything we needed and the dog had water and biscuits each time we ate in the bar.

The hotel is actually at Yattendon a few miles from Frilsham and as I stayed overnight in winter I didn't see Frilsham.
As I used to live not that far away I knew the Royal Oak had a good reputation.
