It was very peaceful and quiet even though there were a few events going on. We loved the yard and coffee shop, fab cakes! Outdoor heated pool was amazing and gorgeous in the sun. The spa staff went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable for my treatment after I told them I’m in the middle of chemotherapy.

The bedroom was large, clean and comfortable. I received a lovely greeting on arrival and was offered a choice of food. Fabulous bar area with a roaring fire. Breakfast was perfect. I was also given a takeaway coffee when I was heading home.

Small market town that has essential shopping and even a family owned department store. There are many walks along the canal or small river that runs around the town. Visit Highclere ( the home of Downton Abbey) or just chill out in the surrounding countryside.

As long as they have got your money they are happy. The world is not black and white

Staff training would be a massive leap forward for you guys.
You might even get happy customers !!!

Newbury was a bit of a revelation.
Newbury was a bit of a revelation. To be honest all we needed was a place to eat as we had opted not to eat in the Hotel. There were plenty to choose from on the high street and we opted for a Lebanese which had beautiful food with good service. The high street itself was closed but we had a wander around and discovered what would be a very vibrant centre in the day time

We stayed two nights and that was exactly enough for a quick look around Newbury, with a visit next day to Highclere Castle, and a departure the next morning. We visited an art installation in the Corn Exchange. A six metre diameter model of the moon. Very peaceful viewing. However, there was almost nothing in Newbury which made us feel we needed more time, nor any reason to re-visit.
We ate in the Lodge Hotel on the Racecourse the first evening. The menu is very limited indeed, basically pizzas, burgers and chicken wings. Next evening we ate at the Swan Inn in Newtown, just south of Newbury. This was a very nice meal.
It is easy to get around Newbury because there are plenty of car parks in the town centre and the place is small enough to cover on foot.

I spent a pleasant few hours (4) in Newbury shopping and looking around. In the main Newbury offered the same old same old shops you see in every town centre. However, there was one nice department store which offered a good choice of clothing, shoes, cosmetics and a couple of boutique clothing shops offering reasonably priced different offerings but nothing high end.

Great shops and eating places.
Great shops and eating places. Have to watch taxi drivers who overchargedeveryday to chievely. A eragev cost sixteen pounds fifty per single journey. It cost us over one hundred and thirsty five pounds in total for four days journeying in and out.
Breakfast was superb so was evening meal. Hannah at the bar and breakfast was brilliant and so helpful and always wore a mask and stood out from the rest. All the staff were great and very helpful just Hannah went that little bit extra. The hotel was great value for money, we paid for half board and it was really worth it. We will definitely stay again, probably the next time Newbury races are on.
It's a little gem tucked away just outside Newbury. A lovely, quaintly British pub and hotel.
The staff were amazing. I had booked.short notice.due to a change in circumstances but it felt like i had booked well in advance. I received a warm welcome upon arrival and i was promptly show to.my room and given clear directions on where all the facilites where.
Breakfast was included and we had a choice between full English to Continental as well as any other choice we could think of. The rooms were a bit small when judged on other hotels on the continent. Location was away from the city but right on the bus line. Staff were more than anxious to cater to our every need. Walk in bathroom was a pleasure.
Really excellent quality food. Nice atmosphere in the lounge area of the bar we decided to eat there instead of going into restaurant.
Staff were very pleasant and attentive
We were in standard double with single bed for daughter.
Very comfortable room.
Location is not far from Newbury and access to M4.
The staff are so friendly and the food was excellent - it's a beautiful setting so close to the Watermill Theatre and Newbury. We were doing two private painting classes with the lovely local and very talented artist - Gail Davis (www.artgaildavid.com) and the hotel was so handy for that.
The staff were very accommodating and parking at the hotel was very good. It was exciting to be booked in somewhere near the racecourse as it gave you a sense of the atmosphere at the track and it was fascinating to look around. The location was also only a short walk from Newbury centre.
This is a fabulous hotel and my go-to when travelling to Newbury with work. Every little detail is carefully thought out. The rooms, albeit on the small side, are truly beautiful and the beds are probably THE most comfortable hotel beds I've ever come across. Great staff too!
The hotel was part of a golf complex set in absolutely beautiful surroundings, the staff were friendly and helpful and the dining exceptional. The cost of the hotel was very reasonable considering the location and hotel.
Good location for Town Centre and Newbury Racecourse.
Onsite parking (although not suitable for large vehicle)
Clean and spacious accommodation
Good quality bedding and towels
Tea/coffee/sugar and milk provided
Rooms do not have USB charging outlets.
We didn't bring a plug-in adapter, so that was mildly inconvenient.
One hotel staff member allowed us to borrow his own personal adapter for a couple hours.
Deluxe rooms are very large. Bed was enormous and very comfortable. Bathroom is nice and clean.
The location is perfect and in the town centre of Newbury. Ideal for Newbury racings
When we got to the hotel I was informed that no rooms were available yet I had already paid for my rooms
Got 2 twin rooms after 2 hours waiting when I had p
paid for 2 Queen rooms
The room was really nice. There was everything you could want including gorgeous biscuits. The decor was excellent. As we stay in lots of hotels with our jobs it was a real treat.
Good location in the town of Newbury. Comfortable beds and clean rooms, Shower was Ok and the free wi-fi an added bonus. Decent price compared to the hotels around.
