Beautiful setting, 12 min drive from York Shambles. Spotless room with lovely decor. The bed was very comfortable and we were warm. Fully equipped kitchen if you want to make your own food, very clean and well kept. 4 block of toilet/shower, not many but never had to wait to use them. Showers were hot and again, very clean. Outdoor bbq area was really nice, it was a shame the weather wasn't the best, but some people there made the most of it. Great space to park your car. Big handsome peacock roaming around with the automatic grass hoover - we named him Groover.

The village of Elvington is mostly a small main road with a pleasant village green and pretty brick houses, there is a small side road up to the church and countryside beyond. It is also convenient for the nearby river and moored boats. The small village shop is very well stocked and includes alcohol, fresh pies and fresh vegetables.
