This is a really lovely property - a proper oasis at the end of a warm days travelling and well worth coming off the main roads to find. Everything about the property is literally wonderful. Lovely warm welcome by the owner and great wee dog. The garden is a seriously chilled place to be.
Joinville has a good selection of restaurants. I had a great meal and the perfect last meal of a prolonged holiday.
Can't recommend Le Val du Roy enough. Just find a reason to go.
We were met by the most friendly and helpful host who introduced us to the charming town of Joinville. The house itself was a beautiful, exceptionally maintained mansion of the 17th century with authentic furniture. Our bedroom was like a count's room that you would visit in castles. We enjoyed our very generous breakfast in the unusually beautiful living room overlooking the garden that oozes the rich past so characteristic of this region.
The hotel was perfect, very tastefully decorated and well maintained. We would love to come here again. Everything worked perfectly. The staff was very polite, helpful and nice.10 points to the breakfast too. The restaurant was nor open when we were there but next time we can enjoy that too. Really a lovely experience.

Beautiful hotel, so much nicer than I’d expected! Our family room was lovely, with a little room for our son which he (and we) appreciated enormously! Beautiful views over the courtyard. Lovely gentleman at reception and safe storage for our bikes.
The room was big, the bed comfortable. Very nice Was also the toilet separated from the bathroom. Two drinks in the bathroom and all very clean.
The location in the small village of Joinville was good for a stopover.

Great place to stopover on route to Strasbourg. Room was modern and clean and free parking was a plus. The hotel is opposite a large supermarket which is handy.
