The owners are incredibly kind and generous - they went out of their way to make our stay special, recommending hikes and things to do and even going as far as to drive us to a restaurant we had booked. It really made the stay.
The hotel itself is beautiful, inside and out - and the room was clean, comfortable and had lovely natural light. It's a great location to use as a base for exploring the black forest, although there isn't a huge amount to do in Buhl itself (it is pretty though!). Definitely requires a car to explore the surrounding area properly.
Finally, a mention for the wonderful breakfast! We had a great time and would absolutely recommend.

It is good for one night layover on way to other destinations. You can stay one night and when you check out you can visit the nearby tourist places and the move on to your next destination. You shouldn't spend 2 nights in this place. Not much to see and not much to do. You are better off spending more nights in Switzerland/Austria.

Lovely and peaceful, away from the motorway and the lovely...
Lovely and peaceful, away from the motorway and the lovely church opposite turns off its chimes at night so all is great for a good rest. The food at the hotel engel is fantastic with some tasty vegetarian and vegan choices and the staff are very helpful with good English. Multi language menu very useful as this was first ever visit to Germany. I felt very welcome in this lovely small town. Clean. Peaceful. Friendly.

A good location for a trip to the Schwarzwald, or tot France (Strasbourg!!). Baden Baden is 17 km., a pretty town. Bühl has all you need during your stay, but offers nothing special of fancy. But why bother? Go out for a walk, a ride, or visit Strasbourg. Taste the local wine at the Affentaler winery in Bühl.

Buhl is a small town that is a good spot from which to explore this part of The Black Forest It has some great cycling routes for those who enjoy flat cycle route riding through fields of corn and sunflowers.
Excellent Hotel. Design was modern and contemporary. Breakfast was first class and luxurious. Also the personal touch and service was the best I have experienced in over 15 years of bussiness travel. Will give 12 over 10 if I could. The extra two points are for the pleasant surprise gift I got on my birthday. A day after I checked in. Attention to service was unparalleled.
Perfect location whether you're walking the Rheinsteig, driving, taking the bus, or cycling.
Friendly staff, very large, clean rooms, great on-site bar and restaurant.
There is also an electric car charger nearby.
Really wonderful views.
Right between two ski slopes too, so there appears to be plenty to do in the winter.

The hotel is very close to the railway station and the bus stop for airport shuttle, which is very convenient. The single room was spacious, clean and I particularly enjoyed the tea and coffee making facilities. The self-check-in was fast with no issues. There is a bakery, a supermarket and a DM store nearby, which was perfect for my needs.
Fabulous Breakfast in a very beautiful spot ontop of the hotel. The Host and Hostess were able to allow me to eat breakfast earlier than normal hours on weekends. Lovely, and most delicious. The area is quite nice, very quiet and had great playground, bakery, and a Lidl store nearby. Excellent Hotel/Apartment for travelers with pets/
Kloster Maria Hilf is a tidy and cosy place where enjoy nice countryside and closer city Baden Baden. It's 5-7 mins walk to the station and you can find everything you need close by. Breakfast is a plus and all food is genuine. It is perfect if you looking for a fair price solution and quiet location. Suggested!
Small quiet sleepy little town, good central location with bars and cafes all around the square. Free parking was made available. Great for 1 night stay. 20 mins from Baden Baden and also the Rhine. Friendly staff, part of a cafe/restaurant. Coffee, ice cream and breakfast all great [bought separately].
We had dinner in the restaurant of this hotel and it was amazing. Very nice staff and great choice of wine. We had 5 course dinner and we really recommend it. Also breakfast was nice and plenty of food.
The hotel is on a hill and great view from our room and the restaurant.
Absolutely wonderful time spent with the owners Uschi and Rex. Oreo, the family dog, was a great host also. When the weather's cold, the heated floors in the room and toilet is a godsend. Also, no dirty carpets like hotel chains. Perfectly happy stay.
Lovely gasthof in a lovely village at the edge of the black forest and next to Buhl and close to Baden-Baden. The apartment was great and comfy. Furniture is almost new. Reasonably well equipped apartment. Check-in and checkout very straightforward
