Came to Tsugaike alone for my snowboard instructor course. Enjoyed my stay in this cozy and quiet guesthouse, it is conveniently located under the "Bell slope", and only a 5 minute walk to the gondola on the other side of resort. The facility is clean and got everything I need especially the public bath and free washing machine which are essential for my long stay. Expect to meet the friendly Japanese family with their English speaking owner. You can choose to be served with homemade breakfast and dinner with variations everyday. Overall it is a good value for my long stay.

The bus stop right outside the building is awesome when getting to and from the slopes eliminating most of the downsides of being so far from the town centre. The baths were awesome and very relaxing.

We had a massive room with direct view of the ski mountain. Perfect location which is only a few minutes walk from the main ski lift in Hakuba.
There was good breakfast there for an extra cost.

Fantastic little Ryokan in Hakuba. A great location for skiing, very walkable even in gear to the bus stop for the shuttle, or even to the Happo Gondola.
The rooms is lovely. At first I was a bit apprehensive because I'd never slept in a tatami room kinda thing, but its pretty comfortable. Only thing I missed was being able to throw myself onto the bed :-) .
The breakfast is amazing, I'd never had fish and rice for breakfast before, but it just works. A great Japanese experience in that regard.
Staff are lovely, very kind and polite.
Located in the famous Hakuba valley, Tokiwa-Tei is a 10-minute drive from the Kamishiro Station. The hotel offers ski storage facilities for guests with ski equipments.

We stayed in this Ryokan toward the end of our trip and it was honestly the best part of our three weeks in Japan. The inn is beautifully kept and every detail is special. The host Maki cared for us like we were a part of her family, I don't think you could experience such kindness and hospitality anywhere else. Maki and her mother prepared us an 8 course meal of traditional local Japanese food in their beautiful dining area and each element was prepared thoughtfully. The bath left us feeling so calm and relaxed. Maki walked us through the inn and explained she is the fourth generation proprietress of the inn after her late grandfather built it 85 years ago, the building feels historic and the beautiful smell of wood is relaxing. Thankyou to Maki and her family for creating a lasting and beautiful memory for our first ryokan stay.
Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Very friendly service from front desk and the chef can speak pretty good english. Comfy breakfast and ski in sky out resort, perfect for you to quickly get to the chair lift/gondola without carrying the heavy ski or board gears on the road. The room is very clean with room cleaning, and there’s public onsen perfect after a long day of skiing
Tatami room has lots of space.Few meters away from the ski lifts and bus station. Convenience store just opposite the hotel. Ski and snowboard rentals just below the hotel. Dry room with private locker.
Great tasting breakfast, food presentation and freshness was great. Japanese with a little western food. Very clean rooms, drying rooms and onsen. Location walk to snow. Also has a restaurant on the same building with great Japanese food, friendly helpful staff and clean.
Amazing location, right next to a green slope. Amazing breakfast provided. The staffs were so friendly and helpful, they offered to drive us to a nearby onsen. Spacious and well equipped dry room to store the ski equipments.
Accommodation was clean and comfortable. Rooms were a good size and had a view of the japanese alps.
Had a ski storage room and drying room which was handy. Only accommodation we stayed in Japan with a drying room.
Nice onsen which was good after days skiing.
Location was about 3-4 min walk to ski lifts.
Very welcoming atmosphere and approachable staff! Had a great time here and would highly recommend. Hai Lodge is a quick 3 minute walk from Tsugaike gondola, and has shuttle to onsen, other ski fields and grocery store
Literally able to walk outside the door and get onto the ski lifts. Location could not be any better. Staff were also very friendly, complimentary breakfast was great, and they were very kind to let us store our bags there for the day after we checked out in the morning. Room and bathroom were clean and heater worked well. The room was also quite spacious even with the futon beds fully setup.
Great location on the slopes, ski-in ski-out access is great. However keep in mind it is a 15 minute drive from the village so can be hard to get into the village if you need to.
Onsen is fantastic, especially after a long day skiing.
Location was superb. Ski in ski out. Hotel onsens were great after a long day on the mountain. Buffet breakfast and dinner were ok. Good selection of foods but these were pretty much the same every day.
