The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. Had to check in early which wasn't a problem. The two staff were great - they speak English quite well, and were very patient with our very poor Japanese. Dinner + Breakfast is really good (but you do need to let them know you would like to have dinner when you are making your booking).

Residence Yasushi features free WiFi throughout the property and views of mountain in Nozawa Onsen. 2.8 km from Lake Hokuryuko, the property provides a ski pass sales point, as well as a shared lounge. Staff on site can arrange airport transfers upon prior request.

Hot spring bath is available for private use. Guests at the accommodation will be able to enjoy activities in and around Nozawa Onsen, like skiing, hiking and snowshoeing. The accommodation is really cozy , I love especially the dinning area and living space which you could drop by anytime for coffee or some snacks. I think this is really a thoughtful arrangement for a ski trip.

The spacious rooms at Fuki no Mori Hotel come with private bathrooms with free toiletries. All rooms have traditional decors, a seating area and a balcony with views. Most rooms have tatami (woven-straw) flooring with futon bedding. The relaxedness of this Ryokan is simply stunning. It was my second time in 8 years that I visited this beautiful location, this time with my spouse. The room was huge, we had a massage seat that was all part of the package and dinner and breakfast were delicious. The onsens were superior and the attention of the staff was superb. Over the years the level of English of staff members increased significantly even when google translate always works in case of emergency.

If you are planning a trip near Nagano or in the japanese Alps and you are looking for an authentic experience don't miss the opportunity to stay at this beautiful Ryokan. The owner is a Man of kindness and he cares profoundly for his guests. I recommand you to book with dinner, you will not be disappointed. We were served such delicious food it was incredible. We are looking forward to coming back to this magical place.

Japanese Yukata robes are provided and guests can enjoy views of the river or of the traditional stone-paved streets. Bathrooms and toilets are shared. Good room, warm atmosphere There is a free onsen on site.

The location was excellent, close to the free shuttle bus pick up point to Nagasaka and a mere 6 min walk from the Shinden bus stop. The owner was super helpful and kind, going out of his way to help ensure that my stay was great. He offered a ride from the Shinden bus stop on arrival, and constantly checked on whether I needed anything else. He also readily provided information of the area, and provided guidance of where to eat around the hotel. The room was really clean and comfortable, and it was a really big room. A different snack is given daily too. Overall it was an excellent stay, and I would be happy to return again, if I can get a booking.
