Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United StatesThe size of the room was just big enough for the bed and had a bathroom that leaked out into a puddle on the floor by my bed, getting my luggage wet. Also has very thin walls so I heard my neighbors well past midnight and was woken up to kids playing outside or a floor below me at 5am

United StatesI was asked via direct message not to criticize the hostel on the comments here, but to tell them directly how to improve. I saw mixed reviews on booking.com but it's a pretty straightforward forward deal. It's an affordable hostel in a great location right in the Old quarter. Manage your expectations accordingly of you're looking for luxury.
The staff were nice and communicative. I had a big bad and needed a cheap taxi from the airport to the hostel, the receptionist arranged this and I got a fairly decent price. The other manager type, a girl, is very kind. I got a single room and the air conditioner was cold and the water was hot.

The place is nicely located, the hosts are really welcome. The thing that I loved the most is the rooftop with the sports inventory, nice view, ukulele you can play. The breakfast is simple but tasty. And the guests stayed were really great. The vibes were nice.

FranceThe place needs security reinforcement, especially at night. Indeed you can come at anytime which is a good thing, but anybody else can enter the hostel. I was in the Female Dorm located on the ground floor, literally just above the reception, and it happened several times in the middle of the night that strangers came in and asked for room vacancy.
Great view on the rooftop, really sympathic owner and people to meet. It is also a great location in the old quarter of Hanoi.
