Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesUnfortunately, the downside of this resort is that it did not provide a restaurant or a bar which kind of suck. Other than that, it would have been a wonderful experience
I love the location. The view from my room was spectacular, there pond and overlooking mountains. Free sofa, paddle boarding, and kayak, was a plus.

United StatesOur room was right below the main office, and in the morning we could hear some footsteps of guests getting coffee, but it wasn't a big deal since we were up and ready to enjoy the relaxing outdoors area, so we didn't care about that, and the place was so amazing that we didn't care.
the view is breathtaking and love that they offer kayaks to go out to the bay! wonderful activity!!! staff was nice and the pool, deck and jacuzzi a paradise. We grab food and poke at Foodlab and had an amazing dinner in the balcony with a wonderful view.

United StatesThe “Mountain view” room wasn’t really a view of anything until we left the room, not at all what I was expecting. Unit 28, all you can see out of any windows is other units.
Excellent location, it was quiet and felt very private and secluded. Gorgeous views all around.

AustraliaVery noisy neighbours making a lot of noise very early & waking us up every morning that we were there! Speaking very loudly, running up & down stairs which were close to our room. We could hear them above us & through the wall!
Beautiful views from the balcony. Nice & hot spa & a large room with comfy beds.

United StatesThe room was very small, smaller than expected but it was functional since we were only there to sleep and then go. It would be nice if they had a small table in the room instead of a coffee table and they could use some better chairs to go with the table . We cooked breakfast on the hot plate and a table would have been great for eating and to set up my laptop to check work emails etc. We ate out on the porch most of the time. There is one AC unit in the bedroom and a ceiling fan in the front room. The AC window unit was noisy - which most of them are. We used white noise boxes to cut out most of the noise.
Paradise Bay Resort was hidden in what appears to be a residential area. The place is beautiful! Pool, jacuzzi, kayaks, lawn chairs out on river/bay and very lush Hawaiian gardens. The staff is great and very helpful. The WIFI works great and they have a nice 'club house/lobby' to sit in and relax. I also like that they are right off of the 83 which puts you right next the the Valley of Temple, 10 minutes away from Kualoa Ranch, and 30 minutes for the Polynesian Cultural center. Lots of local places to eat near by and Safeway is 4 miles south of the resort and there are lots of beaches near by.

AustraliaThis resort is a long way from anywhere but that can be part of its charm. A car is essential to access it and to even go out to a restaurant, yet $15US plus tax is charged each day for car parking! If this was just included in the fees, it would not be such an issue. On check in, I was told that coffee, fruit and banana bread would be available early in the morning. That sounded great, but irrespective of what time I rocked up in the morning, all that was left was the coffee and a couple of bits of fruit. Probably not worth mentioning really. The information on the Booking.com site says "An Aloha Nights Buffet Dinner is offered on Monday and Wednesday. Other activities include Pau Hana Friday's Dinner & Fireknife Show." These didn't happen, so they shouldn't be on that website.
We ended up with a room that was not near the water as we had hoped for, but was up high and was even better! We had fantastic views of the water and the mountains beyond. The whole resort is an older style that has had work done on it to make it very usable. It is in basically a residential area and the staff were helpful with various requests we had. Its location was great for us exploring the north and east coasts prior to our stay in Waikiki.

United StatesThere was a musty smell in our room that didn’t go away. It smells like black mold. When we reported it, the maintenance guy said that he didn’t smell anything. (He must have gotten used to the smell I guess) We saw black mold inside the AC vent. There were also water damage at the bottom of the kitchen cabinet.I had an allergic reaction to the mold but we had no choice but to stay since there’s no other available hotels in the area that week. We didn’t turn the AC on at all to avoid the spread of mold spores. We kept our windows and doors open. 5 days that we had to deal with that. Also the pictures in your website is outdated.
We really like the location.

CanadaOur room was clean and comfortable but not as pictured. The bathroom was totally functional, but aesthetically, it could use an upgrade. A small disappointment in a lovely setting.
The overall facilities were very nice. The view from our balcony was amazing. Every morning, we would awaken, make coffee, walk out onto our deck, and watch the morning rise over the mountains while listening to the roosters crowing and the birds singing. We filmed most mornings to capture the feeling and take it home. The staff are amazing, kind and very helpful. We had a medical emergency, and they were extremely helpful.

United StatesThought I had booked a room with a balcony but, apparently I did not. They did upgrade us, which was nice but room needed updating, cleaning, and more comfortable furniture so it didn't really feel like an upgrade. Roosters walk us up every morning, which I enjoyed but my daughter did not. Key to room was hard to get door open but staff member showed us a trick to make it work.
Staff was lovely and helpful. Banana bread each morning was yummy. Enjoyed lounging on floating docks and walking down to the beach where a sea turtle was hanging out every day of our stay! The boat ride for snorkeling was amazing!

United StatesNo one warned us that this is the wet and windy side of the island. Although we paid a resort fee, the hot tub was not hot, fees were charged for the few kayaks and one paddle board and we were charged for parking too.
Great staff. When our room on the first night was unacceptable, they upgraded us and gave us 2 nights without the resort fee. There was also a wonderful evening entertainer. This could be a great little place but furniture was cheap outdoor furniture and few places to put things. You definitely need a car as nothing is close by.

United StatesThe living room furniture and deck furniture were not too comfortable. We were having a really great experience until new guest arrived at the unit right across from us. They were extremely loud, rude and disrespectful. To the point we were not able to enjoy the wonderful view from our deck or really open all the curtains and doors. Due to the closest of the decks and the fact that the resort has no control of rude people that do create an ugly experience I wouldn't come back. While there's a quite of bit of parking it was a bit of a nightmare because again 'people' just don't have any consideration for others and take up extra spaces or park crooked so you can't use a space... etc.
The resort was in a lovely spot with a nice view of the Kahalu'u Pond. It's in a quiet neighbored hood off the beaten path. The rooms where spacious with very comfortable beds and all you need to cook your own meals. Bathroom was absolutely beautiful. I also appreciated all the Wonderfull windows and heavy curtains to close at night. There were several sliding glass doors so you could open them all up and really enjoy the fabulous weather. When we where able to sit on the deck of the room it was absolutely fantastic. Best morning place for a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening.

United StatesCouch inside was very uncomfortable. Cushions wouldn’t stay on it. No dresser to put clothes in so they were everywhere. Could also use more hooks to hang things on to dry (towels, robes, swimsuits) The ceiling fan light over the bed would randomly turn on in the middle of the night. Not impressed by that. The biggest complaint we had…the shower. You didn’t get more than 4-5 min into a shower before you lost hot water. Temperature control on it was terrible. Sound proofing between units also could be improved.
The views from the waterfront cottage and the grounds of the entire resort were spectacular. The pool area was great as well. Rooms were comfortable. Staff was friendly.

United KingdomI was disappointed to find out that the restaurant/bar was closed and that there were no buffet/evening events anymore - the resort was very upfront about this but it was such a shame. As the resort is in a residential area, it would be so much better if there were food and drink facilities available there. Hopefully, it will start up again soon!
The views were lovely, the room was very comfortable and our patio was great. We chilled out here at the end of our trip to Hawaii, just before leaving, and it was a scenic spot to do so.
