Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

SpainBreakfast was very poor and low quality, although they warn you about it when you book, so no surprise. Room doors and windows are in the common hallway, so it is a bit noisy.
Room was fine, not really big but enough. Bathroom was clean and with amenities. Shower was the best in our trip. Staff was not super friendly but helped whenever we needed it. Although parking places were limited, we were lucky and could park inside the two days that we spent there.

The beds were comfortable, it was safe, it was within walking distance to most attractions, there’s a bus stop very close to the property. Love that it had a fridge and microwave in the room. Continental breakfast was available every morning from 6:30am to 9:30am.

United StatesGreat location for why we were there. Clean room. They had coffee 24 hrs. We were there for the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon. It was walking distance to where we needed to be and lots of restaurants nearby. The room was clean and spacious and was everything we needed. The staff were helpful and kind.

RussiaAll financial part is absolutely crazy. Firstly they changed the price in comparison with Booking.com. We were tired and agreed to pay extra. A day after checkout we saw in the bank account that they charged us for the second time without notification, and a day after the day of checkout they charged us for the third time. The property does not reply any messages and phone calls. And deposit(which is mentioned nowhere) is still not refund, but front desk told us about 3 days for returning.
The location is quite good. Very close to everywhere. Comfortable beds and good refrigerator. Good internet connection. Good parking lot.

Really nice and clean room. I took a gamble as this was a lower priced hotel, unsure of what I was going to get. The rooms were every bit as nice as hotels costing twice as much. The exterior and lobby are humble, but the rooms are great.

Hotel was in a great location and we enjoyed staying on that side of the city. Convenient for dining and shopping. Easy to get transportation to where we needed to go.
