Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe decor of the rooms leaves much to be desired. It is not quite "shabby" as some travelers had written, but rather "plain". There was an effort to add color to the rooms with small paintings and such, but they do not seem to match the bedding colors. The velcro on the curtain tie was worn out so the only way we could pull back the curtain was just to twist it and tie it. The door would slam shut noisily, so I had to remind my son to gently coax it to close.
The best part about the hotel was the location. It was very close to the subway stop, across the street from the Tangram, and close to a few food halls that we discovered in the area. It is across the street from a church, which made the area a little quieter. The hotel was clean and our room was close to the elevator, so we were able to reach the lobby quickly, where I was able to get hot water and tea. I liked being able to open the window and get fresh air.

United StatesNot much to change but it was just generally old and outdated feeling. Chain for the door. Light gets in the room through the door. Box spring cover stained, but other sheets looked fine. I’m thinking you probably get what you pay for, and we were desperate. Seemed like a quiet street though all and all, and everything worked out.
The hotel attendant was very friendly! We were in need of a last minute room after our flight was cancelled, and this is what we got!

United StatesIt was a bit dingy. The carpets are probably 40 years old at least and the room smelled faintly of mildew and possibly urine - probably because of the window A/C. I wore flip flops at all times so as not to touch carpet with bare feet
This was close to a travel work venue - Flushing Meadows - and excellent Asian food. Clean sheets and the bed was comfy. Good hot water in the shower. There is affordable parking off site if needed -$52 for 4 days

CanadaAs mentioned, we stayed in room 301 (with a queen size bed) from Friday to Monday. Beware that the room is old, but it was clean. The bath tub was stained (but covered with a clear shower mat). The AC needs a quick wipe as dust has accumulated a lot on it. The AC made funny noises (like the sound of fluttering paper) which can be ignored. The hotel is in a location where a lot of planes fly by (and quite low too - captivating to see when you’re outside!). Because of the plane routes, it can get a bit noisy from time to time but we noticed that the sound of the AC blocked the noise of the planes. Room 301 was away from the elevator. We could not hear people in their rooms BUT it got loud and annoying when people went in and out of their rooms. We could hear the slamming of the doors (this could not be blocked out by the AC). Because it is New York, it is understandable that people will be coming back late (just be prepared for the sounds). The bed is not very firm, if you are a light sleeper and the other person moves a lot during the night then that might keep you awake. Lastly, there was no kettle or hot water dispenser in the room. You had to go to the reception for hot water and ice.
We stayed in room 301 (with a queen size bed) from Friday to Monday. We paid around $725USD for our stay. The staff at the reception were kind, helpful and accommodating. The room was old BUT quaint and clean. The hotel was in a bustling location! It was a few steps away from the metro station as well as the Q48 bus stop that goes to LGA. We enjoyed the location a lot! Had we decided to stay in Manhattan, then we would not have ventured out to Queens at all. By staying here, we got to experience two different boroughs. There was a high presence of police officers in the area - but that only made us feel safer (we also saw police officers at every metro station so maybe this is normal in the States!). At the beginning of our hotel search; we noticed that other hotels in the area serve breakfast - this hotel did not. We are glad that we did not choose the other hotels because there are bakeries on every street, a Starbucks and a Dunkin Donuts within a few steps away and countless of different restaurants! There are also many oriental markets (great for fruits) and a nearby Target for any essentials. The AC was strong, the water in the showers got really hot and overall it was a good place to rest before heading out.

United StatesThe only slight downside was, though I am a Huge fan of Asian Cuisine, there were only a Mc Donald's and a Popeyes Chicken restaurant in the area. Latino food and others were at least a half mile or more away.
The location was very busy and not isolated off from the LIRR or the #7 subway train to Manhattan & other borough connections. The area is very heavily oriental based with a lot of businesses and various delicious Asian restaurants from Korean, Japanese to Chinese etc. The hotel staff were very pleasant, especially a young lady named Jazmine (if I remember her name correctly) from the time I arrived 'till check out. I stayed between April 16th - 19th in room 805. The room was not very large but comfortably cozy with no overwhelming bad smells. Yes the wall paper was a llittle cracked or slightly peely here and there and carpets were old and traveled but never-the-less both clean. The bed was a nice size queen or small king with fluffy pillows and very firm but not soft. They supplied clean wash clothes and towels with soap and shampoos etc in the bathroom. I had planned this trip nearly a year in advance to catch Barry Manilow at Radio City Music Hall & see my family - and the Flushing Central Hotel did not disappoint. I made my decision based on the overwhelming positive reviews by recent guests with the last few weeks to a couple months - I always think the customers opinions are the best judge to navigate by. So YES most definitely I would come back again and am planning to & I would recommend it if you're not in a position to spend over $1,000 for a few nights as I wasn't able too.

GreeceThe room was small and the wallpaper on the wall was peeling off. The space of the room was taken up by mostly the beds.
The hotel was fine for what we needed. Our connecting flight was cancelled and so all of the hotel prices were increased. For what I paid, the hotel was not that great, but it had a bed and a hot shower which was all we needed after a long flight from overseas.

Hotel was very old with no extra amenities (coffee mugs but no coffee maker in room), but everything seemed clean and the bed was comfortable. It met the need of giving me a place to sleep after a canceled flight and my Uber driver shared that the area is a safe one with lots of good Asian cuisine!
