“The location of the hotel was great, a little far from San Jose airport, so I would reccomend to land at Liberia airport, which is only a 90 minute drive. However, it was in a private area and very safe, with a 5 minute walk to the beach. Everything else was amazing and succeed and of my expectations.”
“We loved the pool and the location. Yes, close to the road, but for us not as issue. Most important: it’s close to the two beaches! Only a 20min walk to beautiful playa Conchal. Breakfast was very good, room very big and quiet. Restaurant served good food. Lovely place!”

“Samara is a lovely place and Bahia makes you feel even more comfortable! We loved our room, which was really nice, the bathroom is well equipped. Tip: eat at the restaurant and thank me later. 😀 all the members of the staff are wonderful people. We had a little surfaccident (dislocated shoulder) and all the staff and the owner Cedric really helped us. Without them my partner would even have had more pain. They rang the doctor (freddy soto) and helped us where they could. We extended our stay, it really felt like our home away from home. Highly recommend it!”

“This is a great hostel. The volunteers and managers really care. Each night there was something social organized or informal. I was travelling alone but there were other groups and individuals. It was busy even during low season so it’s popular. Kristin and Tom were amazing volunteers. I don’t know how Andres is connected to the hostel but he is so kind, generous, loud and carefree. I would come back here .”
“Clean room, use of kitchen, option to leave bags in locker upon early arrival, friendly and cooperative staff, very near to busstation. Small garden which is a bit cooler and where you can meet other people.”
“Pasatiempo was perfect for us - a very relaxed place and friendly and helpful staff. The pool and breakfast and bar area were delightful and really well designed and the breakfasts had a good selection of food which was tasty.”
