Raquel is incredibly kind and so wonderful!! We were so grateful to spend time at this beautiful property that felt immediately warm and welcoming in such a beautiful and charming town. For us it was perfect.

Very helpful staff. Excellent villas with plenty of space. The bedroom AC was nice especially on the hot evenings. Close to everything: The beach was a 2 minute walk across the street. The Saturday farmers market was just behind the property. Easy walk to shops in town. Just a great place to stay.

We had a fabulous 8 day stay here. The staff were so helpful and kind. The location and proximity to the beach was fabulous. Small super market next door that was so continent And had most things you could need. Food and drinks were delicious.

There's really nothing notable that I did not like.

Everything was fantastic! I can't express how much I appreciate the friendliness and professionalism of the ENTIRE staff. The villa was spacious and clean, full kitchen, large bathroom, AC in the bedroom, comfortable bed, very private, large patio in front, hammock was wonderful for a quick snooze! Internet worked great for those that may need it. Short walk to the bar/rest/spa. The poolside bar/restaurant was set up really nice, and food and drinks were fantastic! For as close as you are to the street, Kalimba felt like you were in another world most times. Lots of shade as well, which came in handy on the hot sunny days! If you are travelling without a car/transport, this place is wonderful as you are so close to EVERYTHING in Samara, but you're still tucked away a little bit, away from a lot of the hustle/bustle and noise. Short walk to the beach with easy public access, very close to the nearest grocery, and a quick walk to all the food/drink options in town. Also felt very safe the entire time. Samara is a VERY safe town from my experience, great for solo travelers and families, and Kalimba was very secure and safe with the main gate closed overnight, but still easy access to get in if you were out later. Above all that, I can't say enough about the staff!! Everyone was so friendly, spoke great English, and smiles all day every day! Everyone was so helpful with anything I needed, and I felt very much at home for my entire stay. I would be surprised if you can find a better place to stay this close to the beach/town of Samara!! If you are looking for a safe, close, friendly place, with great amenities, this is your place. Please say hi to Ginger for me! Mi gata favorita en toda Costa Rica!

Excellent grounds, super staff. The pool was great and we enjoyed the bar and the bartender. Dinner at the onsite restaurant was fabulous. All in all we had a great stay!!

Location perfect; very close to the town and beach but still very quiet. Diego and the team were superb hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Villa was lovely, very clean and spacious.

The bedspreads are very thin, almost identical to an American style tablecloth. Otherwise the accommodations were wonderful.

The property is absolutely beautiful! A gorgeous central area with the pool, bar and restaurant area with surrounding adorable villas/bungalows. Yet it is within walking distance to anywhere you want to go in town.

Nothing (perhaps no music to the bar: we prefer from far hearing the howling monkeys).

The location is ideal, close to the beach (a road to cross) and very quiet. The bungalow was well furnished and the bed was very comfy. We stayed three nights at Villas Kalimba and unfortunately, the restaurant was closed from Sunday to Tuesday. But we discovered a lot of good restaurants in the neighborhood. Samara is a nice village with an authentic soul. And the ocean is warm and safe! Very good waves for surfing...

Everything was perfect

The staff was incredible! Carolina, Mateo and Javier made us feel so welcome. The location was right across the street from the beach ... literally a 2 minute walk We loved the location in Samara. We stayed in Playa Carrillo last years and were so happy when we were able to book Villas Kalimba - an amazing boutique hotel/property!

This is an oasis, located 50m from the beach, it’s quiet and the villas are well fitted out, air con in the bedroom. All the staff are welcoming and there is a good restaurant on site, which is currently not advised.

The staff was the most gracious, friendly and helpful we have ever encountered in the 20+ years we have been traveling to Costa Rica.
