  • Ferndale Lodge Review score: 10

“Perfect location to all amenities in Ambleside, free parking too. The room was warm, clean and had everything we needed. Immaculate shower room and toilet, plenty of storage and a massive comfortable bed. We had limitless tea and coffee available, also if we wanted the room cleaned each day just had to leave the sign on door! Perfect! Immaculate sheets and towels, piping hot shower felt very comfortable here”

  • The Engine Inn Review score: 9

“Lovely room. Was so impressed. Breakfast was good. Food was good for tea. Option of own entrance. The locals are OK but watch out for the wind up. He's quite funny. The hot chocolate and tea was a nice little perk. Very tasty.”

  • Barrowgarth Guest House Review score: 10

“The accommodation was well situated in the town. The room was perfect, ensuite a great size. Every little extra thought off- a fridge with fresh milk for that cuppa at the end of the day. Owners were very friendly , were keen to meet all your needs.”

  • “Simply the best, better than all the rest we have ever stayed in! 10/10 doesn't do it justice. A very warm welcome, a beautiful room, a great breakfast and a serene setting.”

  • Ashberry Guest House Review score: 10

    “It was spot on”

  • The Ryebeck Hotel Review score: 7

“This was a lovely guesthouse away from the crowds in Bowness-on-Windermere. Our room (3) on the ground floor had a comfortable bed and no view. Being able to use the lounge & bar area to sit in made up for not having any seating in our room. Onsite parking was also important to us.”
