Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsI had a lovely stay in this hotel. It's only 10 minutes walking from the train station and even shorter from ECI Cultuurfabriek and is situated along the Roer river. The room is normal sized as is the bathroom. There is a wardrobe without doors and without shelves but with a rack and coat hangers. The floor is from wood and felt a bit cold on my feet. Breakfast is included in the price; it's a buffet continental breakfast and there's a choice of eggs: boiled, scrambled or sunny side up. At check in I was warned for a bit of noise coming from the bar downstairs and outside and I could use the ear plugs that I would find in the room, but I never needed them, I hardly heard anything, and it was Saturday night. When walking into the hotel, you have to walk through cigarette smoke as smoking is allowed on the outside part of the bar. Disgusting but it's only a few metres.

Czech RepublicThe starcase was quite steep, so be careful.
I liked the location close to city center. The hotel is an older building so you need to count with it.

United KingdomThere is no lift, but we knew to expect that and the stairs were not as steep as hotels in Amsterdam! We opened the window, but there was a smell of cooking oil so we had to keep it closed. The heating took a long time to come on in the evening, when it was quite cold in the room. Bar staff weren't very attentive in the evening, but staff who checked us in during the day were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is well located for walking into the town. We were there for a gig which was only 10 minutes from the hotel. Nice to have a kettle and fridge in the room. Breakfast had nice bread/rolls and fresh made scrambled eggs.

NetherlandsThe only con was that the room is very noisy.
It was a lovely experience at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast exceptionally tasty and well looked after! The only con was that the room is very noisy. There was a party in the cafe downstairs in the evening, but we were also very welcome! They had warned us about this on arrival and already made their apologies. There were ear plugs in the room!

NetherlandsHad to enter through a crowdy café, room was noisy and too warm (December) due to heating pipes that couldn’t be shut off, could open the window but was directly at the firestairs that lead to the street so not very safe, water took long to become warm and not easy to get nice temperature with two separate tap buttons, single bed with skew matrass was not so comfortable, door had to be locked with key from the inside which is not safe
Friendly staff, breakfast was okay and room and bed were clean, toilet seperate

TaiwanWe lived in the room on the 1st floor facing the river. The noise from the bar downstairs continued until 2 am. There were also some small bugs in the room.

GermanySo remember this is a 2* and if you want to find fault/area's for improvement you could, there's no Air conditioning (there was a fan in the room) and there is no lift (but the hotel isn't really big enough for one), and we didn't need it. There;s still a smoking culture in Holland and many of the outside tables are taken up with smokers throughout the day and night and if you want a quiet environment (and there were quiet times) this maybe isn't for you, because it does get lively at night.
This is a vibrant bar/cafe just across the road from the the river and the start point for the rundfahrt (circular tour) so there's a great footfall in people numbers and it's a lovely place to sit and have a coffee or beer, people watch and generally watch the world go by. We enjoyed our Room which was to the rear aspect of the Hotel, it was en suite, clean and tidy. The beds were comfy we had a good nights sleep (all 3) and didn't need the earplugs. Breakfast was a good continental breakfast and we liked being able to sit outside to have it. The best part part of all were the people, Thanks to Max, Leon and Housekeeping who looked after us arranging return Taxi's from Maastricht in the early hours of Sunday morning following a concert. Printing boarding cards for Flights on the same day ,keeping our room a little longer on Sunday and generally making sure we had a good time. Thank you!
