Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalThe breakfast could be a little bit more elaborate. But is pretty good
Despite the bad weather (which is not fault of the property) we enjoyed so much the hotel! Nice room, great location.

United KingdomWe would have loved somewhere in the hotel to make or buy coffee in the mornings, but this wasn’t a big deal at all (and we understand they are planning on offering this soon!)
Staff spoke a good level of English and were very helpful. The room we stayed in was immaculate, and kept so for our full week long stay. Air con worked well and wasn’t too noisy, wifi was free with a strong signal. The pool was kept very clean. There was a small fridge in the room which worked well, and a water filter in main reception. Breakfast was at a small cafe/restaurant round the corner. Good traditional Mexican breakfast all served with coffee and a serving of fresh fruit. Staff at the cafe spoke very little English but there was an English translation of the menu available and good wifi onsite, handy for planning your day. Overall we had a great stay at Casa de las Flores and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone planning a stay in Playa Del Carmen 😁

Netherlands- Would have liked hand towels - A lot of dead ants sometimes appeared right below the fan on the bed
- Very nice vibes, beautiful decoration - Very friendly staff - Bed was very comfortable (and massive!) - Location was nice, close to walk to restaurants and the beach, but not in the middle of the chaos - The cats!

PolandStandard rooms are rather dark so it might be worth going for the balcony ones.
Lovely colourful hotel just a short walk away from the centre and the beach (we didn't like the main public beach, head to Coco beach or Playa Car instead). Tiki bar just next to hotel serves great cocktails

MexicoEverything was a great value! No regrets.
We chose this hotel to be reasonably close to Xcaret parks and good restaurants. The location turned out to be great. We were able to use colectivos and catch taxis easily everywhere we went. The hotel was also very clean and the wifi was good. The staff was very nice and accommodating as well. Will definitely return in the future!

CanadaCasa de las Flores blew my expectations. Check in was easy and quick, room was big and comfy and clean. Staff was amazing and very accessible. Location is just outside the busy area but not too far, I walked to everywhere. 10 minutes from the ferry, 6 minutes walk to 5th avenue. I would stay here again!

IrelandVery noisy late bar next door that had only a few customers. I am not sure how they're allowed to play music at such a volume beside a hotel. Luckily, most of the rooms are in the inner patio, and this didn't bother our sleep.
Quaint hotel with lovely affordable rooms, good wifi, water suply, powerful AC & comfy beds. Very central location close to all amenities at PdC, restaurants, and 5 mins to the 5th Avenue and ADO station. They also have a car park. Lovely pool to relax, and my son had a great time splashing around. We stayed twice during our trip, and Jesus and all the team went far and beyond to reply to all our queries, gave plenty of recommendations, and adapted to our plan changes. We loved our stay here.

BelgiumSome big ants invaded my room…but it seems common on the coastline there
A warm welcome from the staff in a very busy location. I’m not fond of such tourism and have never seen it in Mexico elsewhere, but the hotel was a safe heaven with helpfulness and tips. I enjoyed my stay also thanks to the calm room when a bit celebration was going on on the main road across. Thank you for this

IsraelWe love this place, we returned after a few days when we came back to Playa del Carmen. Last time my only complaint were the curtains, but this time (coincidence or not, I don't know) we got black out curtains. The room was dark and the sleep was amazing. Really recommend this hotel.

IsraelThe only thing I would change is the curtains that are almost see-through, so at night the light of the garden came through quite strongly. I used an eye mask and problem solved.
We had a very short stay but the hotel was beautiful, we would have like to hang out in the pool or the pretty gardens. The man who was working there was extremely nice, he helped us with the luggage and gave us good recommendations about traveling in the area. The room was well decorated and comfortable. I would recommend it for a longer stay, it's very close to the center but you cannot hear anything from outside. Very quiet!

GermanyThere’s a bar next door that can get pretty loud at night, make sure to bring earplugs. The restaurant is not on the same property, so keep that in mind in case you planned to go in your pijamas.
Good location if you’ll rather not be in the middle of Playa’s action although it’s not the prettiest neighbourhood. Several supermarkets and restaurants only a couple streets away. The beautiful decor makes you feel you really are in Mexico, I loved the gardens. Rooms are sparkling clean.
