This hotel is perfectly located for exploring Hakone. Central to the town, restaurants, buses and the train station. Sitting alongside the river. Friendly and helpful staff.

Breakfast was good with a nice selection. Location was perfect across the Hakone-Yumoto station bridge. It had its private elevator for guests. The onsen is beautiful! Apparently you can also reserve a private onsen at the Front Desk. (We didn’t opt for that, we used the public one). When it was raining, the staff was passing out hand towels to the guests to pat themselves dry. How thoughtful! There’s a firefly park right near the hotel elevator and they offer flashlights for you to rent to go and see them. (June is firefly season). Highly recommend. My 9 year old daughter wants to go back already!

It is a very large hotel and a bit dated. I don’t think it meets the value we payed for.

Good location. Onsen was nice. Very good relaxation room for after the onsen. Restaurants (multiple) onsite. Breakfast had both Japanese as European options.

Rooms were great but rest of hotel needs an update. I couldn't find a glass of wine and the Pub wouldn't serve me if I wasn't eating dinner. That area seemed sexist-geared toward men partying and Kareoke

This is a great location if you need to travel from the train or bus. Beds really comfy. Onsen was clean, cozy and comfortable.

A great hotel with a nice onsen. Breakfast was good and the facilities were clean and well maintained. The location is excellent and allows you to easily travel anywhere in the Hakone area. Overall a pleasant stay.

It was difficult to find food options for the children. We did use the sushi restaurant and the bar was great when we finally found it. We didn’t know it served good and that children were allowed.

We loved that the hotel proved a minibus to take us to the station to avoid the heavy rain. The kids room was great. We really liked the range of options for breakfast. The children were very excited about ice cream for breakfast! The staff really tried to be helpful and offer suggestions.

We were here for two nights and really enjoyed our stay, we would have liked an extra day. The hotel is in a great location right next to the train station, so is really handy for bus & train transport links. The onsite onsen was really good and we had a large room with a riverside view, which was nice after coming from a hotel with a much smaller room in Kyoto. Would definitely stay here again.

Unfortunately people with tattoos are not allowed at the public pool and onsen When I wanted to book a massage and asked if they spoke English, she just said no and hung up

This is an older building, so it doesn't have all the newest improvements like built-in USB ports and adjustable HVAC controls. It also can be busy and fairly crowded at mealtimes. It's the price you pay for being popular.

Nice big established resort hotel across from the station. Our room was huge and very comfortable. The mattress was typically firm so it may not be the most restful sleep we had. But the breakfast buffet was good and overall service was top notch.

The rooms were very traditional, spacious, clean and well decorated! We had traditional Japanese slippers and full kimonos in our room which was fun to wear around the hotel. The location was fantastic - right opposite the main station. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The onsens were brilliant and relaxing, we loved them. There were both indoor and outdoor baths, and we could also book a private one which was a great experience. There are a few restaurants and shops in the hotel, as well as services like massages. Overall we had an incredible stay and really enjoyed our time here! Arigato!

Perfect location very close to main train station (5' walk), huge room with lovely view, impeccable cleaning standards, lots of amenities, great food at onsite izakaya, staff highly professional. Affordable onsite onsen and easy to book even at last minute. Great onsite shop with local products.

Not a lot to complain about, other than the double rooms had sold out so we had to take one of the more expensive Ryokan rooms. This was a good experience, but compared to the double rooms our friends stayed in, it didn’t seem worth the increase in cost.

Great choice at breakfast, very close to Yumoto Hakone station, friendly staff. We used the private onsen and had massages which were great and good value for money.

So hard to find dinner place after 6pm and the hotel restaurant is all booked up. Did not give hotel guest any advantage. Should give some bonus for hotel guest for dinner in hotel restaurant.
