Nice and well located guesthouse with comfortable beds. Not social at all so if that’s what you’re looking for this may not be the place! Could’ve just been who was staying when I was there though!

The beds were not very comfortable and I had troubles opening my safety box- please be careful about that , especially if you need to leave very early to the airport and you have your valuables there. The reception is usually open after 9AM. Eventually the staff was able to help me but I was panicking. Would be nice to add extra hooks or shelves here and there.

I liked the little yard and the common area - that’s very cozy. Location is good and close to the Kyoto station, metro station 7 mins walk.

Only small things... - Staff gave basic infos but I didn't feel like they want me to ask anything else... maybe tired from late shift? - There was a bathtub but it looks like we couldn't use it? Maybe that's written somewhere, idk...but I also understand that it can keep others waiting for a long time. And there's a public bath nearby, but I didn't go

- Very nice atmosphere, cozy but not chaotic, still very elegant, especially small garden - Welcome to sit and talk with others - But also ok not to socialize :) - Mostly quiet, very clean, comfy bed - Kitchen very well equipped, especially coffee and tee corner, free use of fridge - Has a looot of books and boardgames - 15 min walk from Kyoto station, very close to bus and subway station (city bus in front of hostel)

It is an older building, which adds to its charm of course, but also means the stairs are a bit rickety and steep. The staff helped me carry my luggage up and down the stairs which I really appreciated! The beds were a bit uncomfortable but maybe I’m just not used to it.

The common area was spacious and had a lot of board games and stationary items. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. On the nights I stayed, I was very lucky to have friendly and kind dorm mates! The room itself was pretty spacious and everything felt clean.

Very clean and tidy place. Comfort is as expected for the price point: the beds were a little stiff and the noise cancellation was not perfect, but we ended up sleeping very well nonetheless.

You can hear everything from the street aond other roms - but it was clearly stated in advance and no problem for us. Just keep in mind that you should behave quietly while staying here.

Only small issue I had was that I was planning on doing some laundry at the guesthouse, but every day that I was there the clothes line and/or washing machine was already in use. The place was pretty much fully booked out so it’s not surprising, just a little inconvenient for me! There’s a laundromat literally right around the corner though, it was great but kind of expensive.

Had a great time in Kyoto staying here. The guesthouse is clean and comfortable, with a great kitchen and shared space with free tea and coffee. It’s also a great place to meet other travellers. It’s a 15 minute walk from Kyoto station, and not that close to main tourist spots, but it’s fine if you’re happy to walk a little and there’s lots of bike hire options nearby.

Nice guesthouse, nice shared space, bedrooms were quite comfortable as well. One service person helped me to call my next hotel, which was really nice of here.

Unfortunately nobody wanted to play boardgames and more interested in phone screens. Also the mattress was very thin and hard.

The staff are super friendly and accommodating. They keep the place spotless, cleaning and maintaining it throughout the day. There are a few bus stops near the house, the nearest one is a minute away. The place is so cozy and well decorated.

I liked the style of a Japanese house kind of vibe. It's close to the station (only three stops). And there's a wide selection of board games. The rooms were like in dorms.

I liked everything. I have been staying here once in 2019, and it was still as cozy as i remembered. The location is close to the train station, and the common room is super nice and cosy. The bunk beds are big and has privacy curtains, which i loved. I stayed during New Years and the host had arranged New Years dinner for the guests. I did not join but i though that was very kind and a nice offer for all of us travelling during the holidays.

The only problem was that the shower and the sinks were connected by the little garden outside so I got a cold the first shower I had there ahah but nothing that can't be managed!

The hostel is extremely traditional without being a ryokan! The common spaces are incredibly beautiful and everything is at your service, with a very kind staff, always available for you!

It can be a bit noisy at night if you sleep close to the common area because people can stay there and speak the whole night. The showers are also shared, so that's not ideal during busy times.

The staff was very friendly and the common area was nice, where you could prepare some simple meals (no stove) and enjoy some board games and kotatsu. The place has a retro vibe and it's great if you want to socialize.
