The food was not amazing. The raw fish looked very old and didn't taste very good. The wasabi was also somehow different. We decided to include half board so we dont waste time looking for where we should go to eat but if this is not a problem for you might better get it withoit food. Other than that the amount of food was more than enough. The room is maybe big but 80% of it is tatami. So the space for your luggage is very limited. Felt like there is not enough space.

The staff is polite and responsive. The location of the hotel is amazing (especially when travelling without a car). The onsens were clean (unlike the images I saw) and we enjoyed them. We managed to watch the fireworks both night. The boats doing it are starting from this hotel and then going to the most right hotels. If you go infront of the hotel you can see the whole show clearly, from the room you can probably see 85% of it if you are on a higher floor.

The only inconvenience is the shared bathroom.

The room window view is excellent, facing Lake Toya. The room is clean and comfortable The dinner is sumptuous.

It's a grand old building, I don't think sound proofing was great back then.

Spectacular view from the room, close to everything you need be it food shops or nature. The staff are so very friendly. Felt a little like stepping back in time.

I booked this hotel for the views of the lake, there is a sofa in the room towards the window side, if you sit on the sofa and want to enjoy the views of the lake, you can't do that. A broad metal bar, part of the window runs through just at the eye level. So if you want to see the lake from the room, you have to stand at the window. This was very very disappointing. For me, this place is too expensive, no value for money.

The location is good very close to Toya bus terminal. The building is a bit old and not so well kept. Onsen is average in size and nothing so great about it. Meals are good, staff is really helpful and pleasant, check in time is 2:00 PM , which is really comfortable. The decorations in the room are really traditional and pretty. Beds are super comfortable.

No breakfast, but popped up to the local conbini for this.

Best view of Lake Toya, lovely tea set with real tea and sweets in a charmingly old fashioned and spacious room, small cozy onsen with outdoor pool, and very friendly helpful staff.

The air-conditioning was sluggish -- it took almost the whole night to get to a comfortable temperature. The decor was dated. It seemed overall more like a motel than the hotel I was expecting. It was more expensive than where we stayed our other nights in Toya, yet offered less in nearly every way.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The futons were comfortable, and having iridescent strips on the steps down to the toilet area was helpful at night. The meals were both very nice kaiseki-style. The location was convenient within the resort area, although a little too close to the loud ship horns on the bay. The onsen offered multiple different baths at different temperatures, with a helpful guide including onsen etiquette.

I’m going to repeat a lot of the other reviews-this property is very dated and could definitely use a refresh. The rooms were clean and functional but there was a bit of an odor that was not great. Like someone smoked there 20 years ago and it still lingered slightly.

The location is amazing. We could see the summer fireworks from our room and we were walking distance to so many things. The staff were wonderful. Very kind and helpful.

Hotel was quite old and rundown. Initially we were allocated a room on Level one which was very musty and smelt of smoke. The advertised lake view was not a lake view. We asked for another room on a higher floor with a better outlook which did cost more. The staff were very accommodating and relocated us to the new room. The bathroom/onsen could do with an upgrade.

Good location right near lake and transport. Beautiful area with nightly fireworks in summer. Staff were friendly. We enjoyed our stay overall.

A friend made a last minute booking to be with us but it seemed impossible to order breakfast for her which we were having. In the end they let us share which was ok.

Pillows were hard and only one was provided. Room was facing lift and the cruise pier, which will play music till late due to the fireworks period, so it was a little noisy.

Onsen had lots of free creams to try, relatively clean, not super fanciful. Staff very helpful, polite. There was a washing machine and dryer in the ladies bath! Dated hotel but the prices were also the lowest in the region. Given that there were daily fireworks for 20mins (even after it had been raining!), it was a very welcome bonus to our stay.
