The room was not cheap in price but was very poor. No actual view the "window" opened onto a very small closed area which only got its light from a roof skylight. Bit like a prison cell. Room itself was basic and a bit tired. This was compensated by great staff and a very good breakfast. Overall it was too expensive compared to other local Pub/hotels. I think we popssibly got the worst room...one would hope so.

It's a shame that the curtain could not be drawn back to allow natural light into the room. I appreciate this was to give privacy from the public in the upper beer garden outside. To watch TV from the bed, I had to turn my head at a 90 degree angle, which was not comfortable. Alternative was to sit in a chair in the tiny 'living' space. Knutsford itself is on the flightpath for Manchester airport, so you have to adjust to hearing planes every 5 minutes. The room was too small for me to take any photos; I would not have been able to step back far enough!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room itself was very compact, but had all that I needed, and was cleverly designed to accommodate a small hanging rail, coffee table with coffee machine, angled mirror, hairdryer in a bag hanging from a hanger. There was even an iron and ironing board. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was lovely, with high end fittings.

Our main issue was the lack of storage in the room. There was nothing except one rail with 6 hangers and one drawer underneath which was already full with an iron and fan heater. There was nothing else. It was a big room and could have easily taken a set of drawers. There was a table with the kettle, coffee machine, lamp and mirror on but no drawers and no room to put anything else on there without moving the drinks things onto the floor. There were no bedside drawers, just a small shelf one of which had a radio on which I moved so I could put my things on. Just no storage. Even the bathroom had nothing except a shelf above the sink and again it was big enough to put some drawers or shelves. We are 2 women and stayed for 4 nights but had to live out of our cases as there was nowhere to unpack anything, clothes or toiletries which I think was a shame. The room was nice and spacious and lovely and warm. The cleanliness was also an issue which we did point out when checking out so they did apologise and say they would sort that. They unfortunately had a bit of an ant problem in the bathroom which I forgot to mention on checkout but that's easily sorted and not really their fault. Non of this is difficult to sort out so I would recommend it and would stay again due to the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff as I'm sure they will get this sorted :)

The staff were great, all very friendly and really helpful, especially the young lady who served us breakfast on the last few days. The main chef was good and we enjoyed the breakfast. We ate there one night and that was good too. The location was fab, just what we needed, with parking on-site and good directions given. Good communication as well. The outside room was spacious and warm. I would stay here again

Why did the manager try to divert us up a smelly side alley to round the back of the hotel after 11 pm when he was around and could let us through the front door (which he did eventually)?

No decaf coffee in the room. I paid 6:95 for 1 poached egg and 1 piece of toast. Whilst my husband paid £8:50 for a full English breakfast. Not value for money for my solitary egg on solitary toast.

We had to be moved to a different room to the one allocated as no one could find the key to the room we had been allocated, this was well handled by the staff, we were moved to room 2 which we had stayed in previously, the tv was missing from the room and the kettle didn’t work

The sofa bed had no bedding at all and was very uncomfortable. The staff could not provide us with bedding, so I suggest you check it’s there on arrival . No cold water in the room, both taps in bathroom sink were hot.
