Parking is in public car park. Rooms are above the live music part of the property so very noisy and room vibrations until midnight

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Good breakfast

Small bed, cobwebs, slippy floor in bathroom which lacked a bath mat to stop slipping when getting out of the shower.

Friendly staff, helped with parking, decent food (esp those onion rings), plenty of outdoor seating.

The room was functional and clean, just a bit small, but at the end of the day you get what you pay for, and this property more than delivered on what I was expecting.

The breakfast was delicious and brilliant value - the meal the night before was brilliant too.

There was a noisy private event going on til midnight that would have been good to know about in advance but everything was done by midnight and it's not the venue's fault that the karaoke singers were awful! I could also hear the TV from the room next door to me but it's clearly a very old building so the walls probably aren't very thick. Again, like the party downstairs, everything was quiet after midnight. The beds are very small doubles. The toilet in my room was wedged between the shower and the wall so it was a rather...snug experience to use the loo, but the rooms used by my friends didn't have this issue. All superior rooms are upstairs but the stairs up aren't too steep - just something to be mindful of if you have accessibility issues.

Three of us stayed here for a night because one of us had some tough family stuff to attend to and staying at The Malthouse was a nice interval to the difficult parts. Great decor, friendly staff, fantastic food. Really good value room and easy to find. We were able to park overnight at their sister pub just down the road. Good atmosphere. Breakfast was fantastic. The view out from the beer garden is stunning, it's such a pretty town. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room were appreciated. Plenty of pillows on the bed and the bedding was lovely too, even the towels were nice and soft. Toiletries provided were nice and the shower was fantastic, excellent water pressure and lovely & warm.

The complete lack of car parking was very annoying. There are just two spaces on site and seven at the Swan Pub next door. We were parked at least half a mile away from the pub to start with, made worse when we'd chosen the Malthouse because of parking facilities. We stayed in the "chocolate suite," which had a very damp/musty smell, made worse with cheap plastic airfresheners dotted about the room. There was no wardrobe in the room, just an open rack, and the sofa was extremely uncomfortable to sit on. Also, the bathroom had only half a roll of toilet paper. The lock on the security gate to the courtyard area, leading to our room, was broken.

The beer garden patio was a nice area to sit and enjoy. We liked the bar and food. Decor was modern. Staff were overworked but friendly. Nice selection of beers/lagers. The breakfast was very good. The shower was nice and powerful in our room. Tea/coffee making facilities in room. Nice feature wall. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows were also comfortable. Good size room.

The bed was very hard. There was only 1 chair available. The room needed a good clean and maintenance. The sink was cracked, the bath was peeling. The shower needed a good clean. Although cooked breakfast was good there was poor selection of cereal. No choice of toast. No fresh fruit, yoghurt etc

The location was lovely, the room was nice and big and looked good on first appearance. The cooked breakfast was nice.

On arrival we were expecting to have a room in the main building with an en-suite but unfortunately we were given a tiny room in another building without an en-suite a TV that was unwatchable and no where to put any clothes, we told reception of our disappointment and asked for a more comfortable room, the manager was very helpful and fortunately a cottage was available which we excepted. The original room description was very misleading and we would not of stayed there if we had known what it was like.j

I arrived on what seemed to be a very busy week night, which I assume was the issue? It took me just over 10 mins to get the attention of a staff member to check in who then told me to sit and wait, which I did, but took a further 5 to get the extremely pleasant manager to get into the room; this doesn't leave one with the best first impressions.

Reasonably nice room, staff once I was able to speak with them very nice, restaurant / pub very good, fantastic breakfast available from 0700 which is a massive bonus! As many UK B&B type places don't start till 0730 which normally leads me to having miss breakfast.
