The 5 room house is the perfect refuge with incredible views from cobblestone streets and newly renovated furnishings. Kateryna and Christos both took care of our family and included a wonderful breakfast. In the afternoon we could order refreshments, ice cream, toasts, hot dogs etc. for tired kids after hiking the gorge. Distant noises from a couple farms down the slopes blend in with the birds and the breeze. Right at the trailhead of the path down to the spring or the hike to Monodendri. Nice spot to read a book with a coffee or a beer and just be away from it all.

We absolutely loved this hotel. We stayed there for 5 nights with a party of 6 - all in one big apartment. The kitchen and the living room made us feel like home. The two bedrooms were private and spacious. The breakfast was superb with home made pies, cake, omelettes, jam, etc…The staff was very friendly and helpful. They cleaned and made the beds every day. We had our laundry done there too. The location was excellent to see Zagoria. We did the Vikos canyon hike and they helped organize a ride back from Vikos. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We absolutely loved everything about Althea Guesthouse! From the moment we parked our car and Machi, the lovely owner, welcomed us in with a big smile, it was obvious that we made the right choice. The place is so beautiful, you can see that they thought about every little detail. It is clean, comfortable (the best beds we had so far in Greece), and the breakfast is amazing. Machi also helped us with our zagori trip plan. she really knows the area and gave us wonderful advice. We really enjoyed our time here, and would totally recommend it!
The hotel is situated in the small village in Zagoria region, right near the famous Vikos Gorge, the trail to the gorge starts just by the village. The hotel has simply decorated and furnitured rooms with all the necessities. Our beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were small but clean with plenty of hot water. The breakfast was relatively simple but fresh, tasty and plenty for the 2 star hotel. The owners and the stuff were very helpful and friendly, they organised the taxi ride for us after the long hike, which was very nice.
The room was really large so we enjoyed the generous space! However, above all - the host was great. We needed to leave before breakfast time and they prepared us the breakfast in the evening to eat it early in our room, which was really nice. We also left some of our stuff in the hotel before hiking the Zagori mountains and picked it up four days later. We are very grateful for keeping it for us as our backpacks were considerably lighter thanks to that :)) So thank you very much for everything, it was a perfect stay!
Athina Hotel is beautifully located in the peaceful Elati Vilage. The room is beautiful, well equipped, with comfortable bed and magnificent view from the room terrace. The owner was extremely nice, assisted us with finding great restaurants in the vicinity, and pointed out perfect day trips in Zagoria. Breakfast was reach and tasty, including local pastries and coffee as we like it (which they remembered the next day ☺️) We strongly recommend this lovely place!
A family hotel in a lovely village, in my opinion the most worthwhile place in Zagoria. We stayed at the hotel for four nights; Sofia and her two sons, Christos and Theodore were charming, made us feel at home. Spacious rooms, excellent service, generous breakfast. The hotel also has an Italian restaurant with a selection of excellent and delicious dishes. And most importantly, it's their humanity and caring. warmly recommended!

The Hotel was exceptional, the people are nice and everything is tidy. We had a great time! If you stay in the zagori region, then book this hotel. The tour information that they give are really great! Don't forget to eat at the hotel restaurant. Especially the rose wine with starters is great! Directly from the village there is a really nice hiking path up to a mountain top, 1:30h with great view!

Charming boutique hotel close to all the beautiful attractions in Zagori! The room were beautifully decorated, gave us that cosy mountain feeling, and had all we needed for our four day stay. It was easy to find a parking spot, and the view of the mountains from our room on the first floor was so gorgeous and peaceful. The breakfast and the host were both amazing and made us feel like home!
Wonderful family run hotel and restaurant that was perfect for our 3-day trip to Zagori with our baby and dog. Our room and bed were very comfortable, with mountain views. The breakfast was great, and we also ate dinner at the restaurant twice- everything was fresh, local, homemade, and delicious. The location in Aristi is excellent for exploring beautiful Zagori. The hotel was built using a traditional Zagori design and it looked beautiful. The owner, Mr Michalis, and his staff were very friendly and provided excellent service both at the hotel and at the taverna across the road. The breakfast was delicious and included local specialties. We highly recommend Hotel Machalas to anyone wanting to experience the Zagorochoria area.

First of all the location of the Village is ideal to explore the area, located in the middle of Zagori. The hotel was located on the top of the village offering stunning views of the mountains, with very easy access by car. Comfortable bed, very spacey and clean rooms. The owners really warm and friendly and lastly a great breakfast to start the day exploring!!! !
The hotel is well situated with close access to the Vikos Gorge. The owners are very attentive and look to make your stay exceptional. We had a large very clean room with a fireplace. Breakfast was mostly homemade items with dairy products from the local village. The Zagori is a fabulous hotel in a small village. Very highly recommend.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in the Zagori region of Greece. Voula and her family at the hotel were perfect and charming hosts that helped us make the most of our time in the area. A beautiful location, lovely rooms and a delicious restaurant. We would love to come back to Papingo and stay here again!
Vary clean, comfy and quiet small hotel. Spiridoula is amazing host who cares about her guests. The hotel location is very convenient - close to Voidomatis river, wonderful tavern and many places of interest in Zagori. The host can help with planning any activity in the region. I would highly recommend this hotel!!!
My experience at Hotel Monodendri was fantastic -- the warm welcome and kindness of owner and staff, the beautiful and spacious rooms and building, amazing breakfast, and delight of staying in the perfect Zagori town of Monodendri as the leaves turned color this fall made this one of my favorite places in Greece.

We had a double room with separate rooms for the children and 2 bathrooms so we had privacy and comfort. The hotel has a local character and serves good breakfast, all home made. The owner speaks English. The location is perfect to explore Zagoria, one of the famous paths starts right next to the hotel.
A Beautiful Hotel located at the edge of the scenic village Papigo. A big big 10. The hotel is well designed, the rooms are big, the beds are comfortable, the hosts are incredibly nice and welcoming and the breakfast is superb. If you are visiting Zagori region, this hotel is a MUST.
