Excellent location for exploring Lakeland, especially the much overlooked Western Lake District. Cockermouth (2 miles away) is a very pleasant town and a good shopping centre, and much quieter than the touristy towns such as Keswick. A lovely shower with plenty of hot water and space. The convenience of a dishwasher. Private parking right by the apartment. A genial host who could not have been more welcoming and helpful.
Troutbeck
The room was refurbished to a good standard and was quite comfortable and offered a lot of drawer and wardrobe storage. Breakfast was included and offered a choice of options and was very good. The location is very rural and a good base for visiting the Northern and Western Lake Districts. Very happy that the hotel was dog-friendly.

The location was fine for the purposes of exploring the Western Lake District. Breakfast was fine. The room was comfortable and the shower quite powerful! Wifi was good.
Very comfortable and great spa facilities
All staff and facilities were excellent. Very dog friendly and staff engaged happily with our puppy.
We loved the large room with views up Derwent Water and the large outdoor deck next to a garden area ( room no. 40). The furnishings were very comfortable and included a small table and chairs by the view window. The bathroom had floor heating and the shower was a good size , hot water and with great water pressure. The well staffed restaurant is very large and included a separate section for hikers and people with dogs . The breakfasts were nice and the dinner menu had lots of options and prices very reasonable . The restaurant has lovely views across to the lake and mountain backdrop. The proximity ( about two hundred metres) to the Lodore ferry landing was very convenient and provided an opportunity to do a delightful Derwent Water walk by using the ferry to transfer to another location and walking back to the hotel. There is lots of free parking right at the hotel.
I highly commend the staff at Inn on the Lake - really fabulous service and going out of their way to make sure all was well.
I had a lovely stay, nice and comfortable place, quiet and clean surrounded by beautiful scenery
All was very nice and exceptionally nice staff
Stunningly set accommodation, beautiful gardens and surroundings which adds so much charm- especially with all the bunnies and wildlife around. The hotel itself had a lot of character, the room had plenty space, a bath and a roof terrace. There wasn’t one member of staff that wasn’t warm and friendly with us which again, really helps to feel at home. The spa being included was really the cherry on top. Indoor and outdoor pool as well as sauna, jacuzzi and steam. It was hard to pack up and leave the next day!
The restaurant was excellent and the location sublime. Couldn’t use the spa that we had booked due to illness so hope to return soon!
A rare and amazing example of where staying at accomodation is a wonderful and memorable experience. Perfect in all aspects of our stay ! Many Thanks Tony, Sue & Jessica Westcott - Melbourne Australia
