Allendale Town
Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Hotspur House provides accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. Featuring luggage storage space, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. The accommodation offers a housekeeping service and bicycle parking for guests. First of all our host of Hotspur House Liz she is terrific , a very welcoming person and nothing to much for her . Breakfast superb . Location wise fantastic , a quiet village and not far from Hexham , Newcastle or even Durham . Our Deluxe room was excellent and clean, perfect beds . A lovely view over the village square from our bedroom ,the bathroom had a view over the garden. And last but not least a big thank you to Liz for making us feel at home (and we musn't forget to mention the homemade cookies , which we really liked.... ) We would like to recommend Hotspur House to everyone

We had a lovely stay and didn't want to leave. Will definitely be back to stay.

This was the fourth time we had stayed there. The staff are always helpful and the facilities are great. There is free parking 100m away in the towns main car park if you use the white bays.
Excellent inn. The Howard Arms seems to be the centre of the community. Much more than a pub. Restaurant Excellent with a wide range of menu. Breakfast also exceptional with waitress service. Friendly. Room a good size with very good shower room. Free parking in the public car park at rear and ev charging points.
What a fab hotel ! Felt relaxed as soon as we arrived, lovely atmosphere and decor. Room was good size and spotlessly clean. Hotel is on the main street, which doesn't bother us, but hosts did supply ear plugs in case of any noise. It was nice to have a separate lounge area for guests. We had an evening meal and breakfast, both very good. Car parking nearby. We would definitely stay again.
Cleanliness excellent. Bed very comfortable. Obvious that hosts care deeply about guest comfort as so many thoughtful touches of quality and taste that makes this guesthouse special. Location, room, food, beer, wine, brilliant service from friendly and attentive staff. Also, the use of the free parking permit in the Abbey Car Park was an absolute Godsend to make our stay in Hexham so easy. Thank you!
Location in the town centre is good and there is plenty on-street parking as well as free car parks nearby. Food was a bit hit and miss - the gammon steak was very good other meals were mediocre. Staff were friendly and the bar service was fine.

The pub is in very good location in the centre of town with plenty of on-street parking nearby. Breakfast was very good. I would definitely stay there again.
Superb hotel for exploring Barnard Castle and the Dales. No on site car parking, but plenty of free on-street parking. Excellent food portions and a very friendly staff.
