The bed was comfortable, although "snug" the room was a good size - the sloping ceiling will not suit taller people but the area of the room was good. It was very clean, staff were professional and it is well situated in the heart of an attractive village.

Exceptional hotel in a lovely area. The Greenwoods hotel is an excellent place to stay, it has ample parking and great views of the countryside - rooms are spacious - the food and service are fantastic and the spa facilities and swimming pool are a great place to relax - I would thoroughly recommend a stay here I felt very looked after from arrival to departure.

Would not bother staying again
I liked the beds and the nearby facilities, restaurants etc. I also liked the size of the family room and the fridge in the room.
The restaurant staff were rude and made us feel extremely uncomfortable by constantly looking at us and treating us as thieves because my children took a small pack of cereal with them after breakfast buffet due to lack of lactose intolerant milk at breakfast. They stared us down each meal and it was not possible to get a refund for the prepaid breakfast.
It's quite far from the town centre

The room and bathroom were very clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend while staying in Basildon. Location is great as it is at the Festival Leisure Park where most activity is in Basildon.
Perfect location for festival leisure park. Hotel staff so helpful and approachable. We had a faulty TV in our room and it was acted on immediately and we were upgraded and offered a free drink each.
Breakfast was lovely and I was offered an alternative to meat sausages as soon as I informed them I dont eat meat. Everywhere was clean and tidy and comfortable.
The staff is very friendly. Large choice in the breakfast. Children eat for free when parents have dinner in the restaurant. The Festival Leisure Park is closed to the hotel. Eastgate shopping center at 5 minutes from the hotel (by car). Easy access to London by train (35 min). I hope to come again a next time.
Large clean rooms, I like the fact the kettle etc had its own little space so you could use the desk area! Great location in festival leisure park so you can have a drink and food etc without worrying about massive Uber costs on the weekend.
