The price-quality ratio for this hotel is amazing! The bedroom and bathroom are both quite large and very comfortable. Everything is super clean, the bed sleeps amazing, plenty of room to leave your stuff, there is a small fridge in the room and the shower is amazing. From our room we could watch a beautiful sunset and see the stars at night. Breakfast was good and the lady who runs the hostel was really friendly and helped us to book some tours.

    This was our second time staying at Cougar as we absolutely loved it the first time. The property is spacious, modern and very clean. The master bedroom has a balcony which we sat on every day and night and watched the birds and the stars. We saw Toucan's, hummingbirds, wrens and many more. The location is very peaceful. There is a farm close by selling fresh produce along with a night tour and dinner. Our host Maria is wonderful. Very attentive and just a beautiful human.

    You can't find better value for money in Monteverde/Santa Elena. The host, Lili, goes out of her way to help you. She never intrudes. Delicious free coffee in the morning. Parking at the door, as well as a small supermarket. Close to the village (a steep road though). Shower works very well. Kitchenette where you can make your own breakfast/dinner. Also a common room. Lili also helps to book activities (with discount).

    Staff are friendly and helpful. Site is clean, well-maintained, and peaceful. Lots of places to sit quietly and enjoy being outside with a book and a cup of coffee. Good restaurant on site where we had a dinner and a breakfast. Easy walk into Santa Elena for groceries, souvenirs, restaurants, etc. I wish we had stayed longer.

    Really friendly family, beautiful view over Monteverde forrest even until pacific ocean from our room and restaurant. Great lunch, dinner and breakfast. Big green garden with flowers. Best stay in Costa Rica so far.

    The location is very natural and the tree house cabins elevated and amongst the trees are both different and more interesting than 1 would expect. Elizabeth the hostess and her husband are very accommodating and very open to requests. Breakfast is prepared for you and provides a solid beginning to your day. The value for money is excellent albeit a nature / rustic experience. Great stay for us!
