The Bustard is a 300 year old building on the edge of Salisbury Plain. Over the years the building has been a farm, a pub, a hotel and used as a base by the military. It is now owned by an Outdoor Therapy charity. We are in a rural location and there is no public transport. The nearest bus is in Shrewton ( 3 miles ) and the nearest train station is Salisbury ( 12 miles ) . Having your own transport in this beautiful rural location is strongly advised. The Bustard tearooms are open at weekends only from 12 noon - 5 pm and is accessed from our roadside entrance. The visitor entrance is found in the main carpark - a white door up 2 steps. There is a large car park that can accommodate many vehicles, booking is not required.

I live on site and enjoy being so close to Salisbury Plain for long walks with my labrador. We love welcoming visitors to the area and enjoy sharing our local knowledge of this fascinating place.

We are situated in a rural location, just 2 miles from Stonehenge, but close to many other attractions to explore in Wiltshire and the South coast. By car - Bath 1 hour, Salisbury 30 mins, Devizes 30 mins. We are surrounded by wildlife and all sorts of areas of archeological, historical and military interest. Old Sarum, Salisbury Cathedral, Avebury are all within easy reach. Many visitors love the peace and quiet here. The dark skies mean that the stargazing is superb. Local takeaways deliver here, or there are several pubs in Larkhill / Durrington / Tilshead / Amesbury / Woodfords which all serve food. Details of these are provided in the welcome packs in your room. There is a small village Co-op store with post office in Shrewton ( 3 miles) and a small convenience store in Larkhill (3 miles ) The supermarkets Tesco, Aldi and LIDL are all found in Amesbury ( 7 miles )
