Coln St Aldwyns is a beautiful yet peaceful Cotswold village in the picturesque Coln River Valley. Slap-bang between Cirencester and Burford you are away from the madding crowds but close to the myriad attractions the Cotswolds are known for. The village is surrounded by excellent walking country and there is an excellent pub just a short walk from Laurel Cottage. The pretty village of Bibury, home to the much-photographed Arlington Row is two miles away. Supermarkets and Shopping: Coln Stores is 150 metres from the cottage, and there is a Londis in Fairford (3.3 miles). For a larger food shop, there is Waitrose, ALDI, and Tesco in Cirencester (9.4 miles). Eating Out: The New Inn, Coln St Aldwyns (0.2 miles) The Keepers Arms, Quenington (0.9 miles) The Victoria Inn, Eastleigh (3.8 miles) Walks: Coln St Aldwyns is surrounded by excellent walking country. As a starter, the gentle 1-mile walk around the village is a good introduction and a wonderful way to get your bearings. Head further afield and you’ll find a landscape of woods and water meadows. Try the 4-mile walk through the valley to nearby Quenington or wander a little further with a 6-mile circular walk to Bibury.
