Charming cottage in a much sought-after village with a large rear garden, off-road parking, excellent village shop 50m from the front door and ample countryside walks. 5 miles from Shaftesbury and a short drive from places like Wilton House, Hauser & Wirth, Stourhead, Messums West and much more! A cosy country bolt-hole to enjoy the slower pace of life and surrounded by numerous pubs & restaurants. The cottage also has a pond, if you enjoy cold water dipping! The cottage has three bedrooms, two on the first floor and the third accessed via a ladder to a converted loft room. Please note the loft room has reduced ceiling height (5ft 9" with a lower wooden beam). All bedrooms have plenty of storage for clothes. The cottage has a large garden to the rear and off-road parking for up to 4 cars (whilst there is also plenty of free unrestricted parking in the village). The village shop (which is a minute's walk from the cottage) is packed with a brilliant selection of food and drink so you don't have to go far for supplies. We supply the cottage with logs and kindling to get you started, but any extra used will be charged.
We can keep in touch during the stay. Rarely we will be away, but will be contactable.
The village is the birthplace of Sir Christopher Wren, and contains a fantastically stocked village shop, large playground, local pub with stunning views looking across towards Shaftesbury and ample opportunities to get outside and enjoy the numerous walks on offer. Only 5 miles from Shaftesbury and 'Hovis Hill', and 45 mins to the Jurassic Coast. 5 minutes off the A303, so a good place to break up a trip further West. If you are looking for places to eat out, then you are spoilt for choice. Within a short drive, you can fine The Grosvenor Arms (Hindon), The Beckford Arms, Pythouse Kitchen Garden, The Compasses Inn, and more. Bruton and Frome are close-by, and Salisbury is 30 mins away. Private parking with the cottage & also free on-street parking in the village.
