Church Cottage had all the advantages of staying in a Landmark Trust historic property, with all the advantages of a private let. The house is utterly stunning (it looked good on the photographs but even better in person). Marion was utterly charming and very helpful indeed. The facilities were ludicrously good (a proper chef's kitchen, good bathrooms). But OHHHH the garden! 3 separate seating areas, all better than something in the best kind of country house hotel, all comfortable and secluded and slightly magical. Looked like a photo shoot, felt like winning the lottery. It was very hard to leave the garden at ALL! We had come to the area for a family wedding and were a bit shocked by costs in the area (generally- Church Cottage was very good value relative to others)- but this really is worth investing in. Unforgettable, and raising the bar for everyone else.

Me and my partner stayed here for a weekend away. We had the most wonderful time. The property was extremely clean and well presented. Everything was well thought out. The bedroom and living room area were extremely comfortable, even the lighting was nice. Bathroom was very modern and well kept with plenty of space throughout. The owner had left some thoughtful treats ranging from cheese and red wine to croissants and pastries ready to be put into the oven for breakfast. All amenities that you would require to be self sufficient were also supplied, if you’d rather cook yourself. The location was excellent and we managed to travel quickly in and out of Bath for some exploration with ease. It also has great routes for walking in the local area where you can see out for miles and catch some incredible views. Overall this was the perfect getaway location and we would recommend it to anyone with a great mixture of activities available both rural and within the local cities.
