Food was great in Hai Phong. With a wide variety catering to other nationality. Seafood is still the freshest in Hai Phong but it is not my cup of tea. Hai Phong is more famous for it ship building and metal industries. So metal parts are normally cheaper in Hai Phong.

Not what you would really call a tourist destination though there are a few places nearby such as the Opera House, Pagoda and near to Halong bay (45 km.

Hai Phong has virtually no tourist infrastructure and it very difficult to figure the place out. A lot of Internet references lead you to places that don't exist at the address mentioned. Finding food was challenging. No one speaks English. There really isn't a lot to look at anyway. Colonial quarter is nice sort of but there are better examples in Hanoi, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh city to name a few.
We found one brilliant restaurant. Best we found in Vietnam by a long way. It was called Nam Giao (22 Le Dai Hanh st). Go there if you are in town. You'll be blown away. Great beers on tap as well.

If you’re looking for a real Vietnamese city adventure, Hai Phong should be on your list. We literally saw no tourists. Everything is pure and the city has a couple of cool sights. The food is great and the cheapest of whole Vietnam.
An interesting, unusual and calming collection of small containers set over two levels which give rise to a Homestay, meeting place/study and cafe. Lots of plants so the greenery softens the structures.
Local interest of Miếu Trung Hành & Chùa Hưng Khánh, an ancient Temple and relics restored in the 17th Century. Striaght across the road are several eating places leading to a massive market which has a road specialising in flowers. There is a cafe onsite at the residence. A good bus service into Hai Phong itself is close by.

What I appreciated the most was when he saw me feeling down. He called me up and gave a local Vietnamese fruit to cheer me up. It was really heartwarming.
My initial stay was supposed to be 2 days but I ended up booking for a month.
This property is the best for a budget business stay.
The room is clean and looks like the photo. Must rate 10 stars for the attitude and service of the hotel staff. The receptionist was warm and enthusiastic and helped us check in early from 10:00 for free because they had the room earlier than expected. The housekeeping staff is also great because they clean the room for me every day. There are many amenities in the room, full of utensils and tools, so I don't need to prepare anything in advance.
It was perfect for a one night stop over after flying into Hai Phong too late to travel on to catba island. Clean, modern, comfy, great communication with host. It’s more on an air bnb than a hotel. ( self check in and out , pay by bank transfer or leave cash). Down a pretty side alley, quiet, close to shops and food. Was a perfect little oasis for us.
The Hotel room was nice but we were on the noisy side (honking very early in the morning). The Hotel was almost empty (about 6 people stayed in this huge building). The location was great because 'quiet' compared to the city itself. Kind servers at lunch/ dinner/breakfast. breakfast was huge! I wonder what they do with the leftovers!
The room is nice and there’s a small gym you have access to. Expected amenities are all there and shower is clean. 10/10 is mainly because the receptionist was super friendly. She had a lot of recommendations for great local food, helped me book a bus to Hanoi, and helped me top up my Vietnamese phone plan.

A modern and conveniently located hotel in Hai Phong, only 5-min drive from the city center. The room was clean, well facilitated with everything we needed. The indoor pool was a bit small but clean and not very crowded on the weekend. Staff were friendly, helping me with the early check-in.
