Room was excellent. Staff quite helpful. Location good. Unfortunately, we only stayed a couple of nights and did not have time to use Spa facilities. Swimming pool looked nice and inviting. Negative: check-in very late (15h00). People arrive early in the morning after long haul flights and have to wait at reception which is not very big.

The area had a place to shop and food outlets and was within easy walking distance of Porto's main centre. One huge advantage is that, being at a higher level, when you walk across the bridge (or catch the metro across) to the North side of the river, you are almost at the top of Porto, which saves a long climb.
There are also interesting sights and sites in Vila Nova de Gaia itself, such as the monastery and the views over the Douro to Porto. The monastery was shut when we went but may be open later. Mostly we went further afield so I cannot comment on much that was there. The Jardim de Morro is worth a visit, especially if you like live music performers and good views.

VNDG gives the most amazing views of Porto.
VNDG gives the most amazing views of Porto. A short walk across the bridge to the city. Its flat where I stayed but the city is very steep with lots of steps so wear sneakers. The tiled churches as stunning. Doing all the touristy things - I caught the cable car, the tram, the furnicular, shopped the markets, visited the churches, climbed the tower, booked for the Livraria Lella, had a glass of wine at the market, went to wine bars, Time Out market for dinner and Portuguese tarts with coffee.
I had a fabulous time and visited World of Wine as Porto is a Great Wine Capital.

There are good restaurands ,and not very expensive.
The riverside is lively and you should take a gable to the hillside.
It is not so far away from Porto so you can walk there.

Beautiful part of Porto, right over the river with plenty to do. Most of the Porto wine "caves" are on this side of the river but getting across is a quick uber ride. We did a Tuk Tuk tour as well and got to enjoy a Fado performance at night. New Years Eve dinner cruise was great but book ahead so you don't miss out! I would definitely visit again!

The area has plenty of interesting things to visit.
The area has plenty of interesting things to visit. Of course, the region is very well known for the vineyards and the respective Port wine cellars, which you can visit and even have a wine tasting. A walk by the river is also recommended.

This is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. Everything about my stay was exceptional. The staff was accommodating and personal, The breakfast was outstanding - I would definitely recommend getting the breakfast included. The views, the art, the architecture- all top level. great service in the restaurant and the skybar, which had delicious cocktails (and mocktails) - with the best iconic views of Porto. I loved this place and will return!
A truly exceptional 5 star stay. Everything from the breakfast, to the upgraded suite with a warm welcome and a happy birthday note, the spa, the happy hour reception, and the bar- I truly enjoyed my stay. As a travel influencer and travel agent who visited for my birthday. I will certainly stay here again and make sure my clients book this hotel for their future travels to Porto, Portugal. I literally have no complaints and can't wait until I can return!
The hotel is completely new and perfect to move inside Porto. I spend 3 nights for a business trip and I really appreciate everything.
The persons working there are really nice and ready to ensure a perfect stay for the customers.
I will probably come again for my next travels.
For different reasons I do not note all the hotels I do (to much hotels every years) and this one was for me one of the best I’ve done since a long time.
It's the best hostel I've ever been... The people are so helpful and nice, breakfast is gorgeous and better than in some hotels, you can get water, coffee and tea all day long, rent a bike for free and get some discounts for cooperations.
On top, location is perfect in Gaia. Just 10 min walking over the bridge to Porto riverside and you have the best view to Porto from the hostel :)
Very good breakfast, staff excellent, we were lucky with weather and be able to have it on the terrace, great views of Douro and immaculate gardens.
Restaurant food and service were excellent.
To visit a city like Porto but be able to stay in a location such as this was a great bonus, also to be able to take the hotels water taxi into Porto was amazing.
Everything. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and kindly let us store our bags for a few hours after checking out. The hotel had a quiet ambience, was spotlessly clean and we slept well on the huge, comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent and location is ideal too. We very much hope to stay again next time we're in Porto.
Due to a cancellation from another hotel, I had to quickly find a last minute stay for one night and this hotel was perfect for that. Clean, friendly staff, comfortable, and located just off the metro/bus line and just a short 15-20 minute walk to Porto. Room included a small fridge and I LOVE that the windows opened!
What a hotel! A must stay when in Porto and we preferred staying on the Gaia side. Literally right next to port lodges and walkable to everything. It was like the Ritz Carlton with Marriot prices. We ate at the Yeatman restaurant which was the best meal of my life. Absolutely loved this place and will be returning.
Porto perfection! The location cannot be beat! (Extremely clean, well equipped, inexpensive super secure parking practically connected to the building) The view was absolutely incredible. We ate dinners early to make sure we could be back to enjoy the sunset view from our apt looking over porto. Gorgeous!!!!
Our group of 8 enjoyed the Porto Sunset Flat. The apartment is spacious and due to a full wall of windows, the view is fantastic. The apartment is close enough for visiting Porto as well as day trips to the surrounding area and also far enough away to relax outside of the city. Would stay again.
Very cute and clean apartment in a quiet and easy location to explore Vila Nova de Gaia and Porto! AC in every room ensured for maximum comfort. Easy check in/check out process. Tons of things to eat and do moments outside our door. Paolo was responsive and helpful before and during our stay.
The room is large and comfortable, with a great view. You can see the old town of Porto and Bridge Louis I; the hotel also has its own parking lot, which is very convenient! We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was delicious!
The facility is beautiful, in an old house with typical furnishings! Despite being in Vila Nova de Gaia the metro stop a few meters away allows you to reach Oporto very easily. Excellent for this reason.
The owner very kind!
Exceptional location. Near Jardim do Morro and the monastery. Near a lot of Porto sights. We had all the necessary facilities for our stay including dishwasher, hairdryer etc. Place was clean and comfortable
The hotel was lovely, so was the staff location good room was lovely and to our surprise we was upgraded, thank you. We are stopping again in the Hilton Porto in two weeks time, I am hoping it’s as nice
Excellent boutique hotel with a great view of Porto. Very friendly staff who went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly.
