Hotel Ping Pong, hotel in Lido di Ostia

Hotel Ping Pong is located in Ostia, just 50 metres from the coast and its many beaches.

The breakfast was nice , good coffee of course, nice flavourful savouries, the location and views were great, the balcony is lovely in room 45, the aircon was good, (except the aircon monitor is leaking water, it soaked into some of my clothes in the wardrobe below , you should fix the aircon box). The bed is comfortable, the shower is strong, the room is so quiet and peaceful. The hotel is located in a central location close to restaurants and the pier. The beach is just opposite the hotel. The cleaning lady Dalia is really friendly and gave me more towels when I asked her for them. She was so helpful. It’s a good ‘value for money ‘ hotel with a quiet and calm atmosphere. Nice posters up the walls on the stairs and pictures on the walls. Really good double glazing on the window and door of the room, so it’s so quiet at night. One of the men who works on the reception was so helpful on my last morning , and booked me a taxi to Fiumicino. It made my return trip so much easier when I was not feeling very well. The taxi service the hotel uses has really nice and honest drivers, (well the one I got was like that anyway. )Much appreciated.

This was my third trip there.

This was my third trip there. I love the vibe , the fun atmosphere, the feeling of safety as a woman travelling solo, the pier, the beaches, the walks by the sea. The weather of course. The food , especially at Golden Italy restaurant.

Lido di Ostia Is a fantastic place and a great alternative if you don't want to stay in Rome. But we never got to stay at the Appt Gaudi, be careful booking with an Appartment managed by Ostia Holiday.

The beach looked great and if we were staying longer and the weather was warmer, we would have definitely spent some time there. There was a lot of restaurants to choose from and the two meals we had were quite good.

The apartment was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed for our 3 week stay. The number 5 bus stop was across the road from the apartment which stopped across from the train station which took you into Rome. The beach was a walk away with plenty of facilities. Would definitely recommend this apartment and area as it gives lots of options. Our host was always prompt with his answers to our enquiries.

As the seafront of Rome, Lido di Ostia is a great place where one can truly enjoy a local life while having easy access to the historical sites in Rome. To me, the best thing about the town is its proximity to Ostia Antica archaeological site and the sea.

    Ostia is ok.

Ostia is ok. The beaches are mostly private and you have to pay , they stop you to go in. There are couple areas pubic. It’s close to Fiumicino so it’s convenient to take a taxi…25euro. There is an area with cheap used books by the public beach, so that was my favorite place.

The location of the apartment was super. The sea was within walking distance. Grocery stores and a market was close by. This is the cleanest apartment I have ever booked. The apartment was super well scented and everything necessary for life is there. Lucrezia and Alessandro are very helpful. They have even prepared the guide with the most important information (use of equipment, grocery stores, beaches, etc.). We were very happy with everything. If we come to Italy again, we will definitely be in this apartment.

One of the better B&Bs I’ve stayed at. The caretakers are generous, attentive, and professional people. They even made me a pizza and did my laundry free of charge. Thank you Mrs. Olga. The Wi-Fi was quite good and the room had everything one could want for a relaxed stay. The bathroom was nice too. The rooms are in a quiet flat, not loud in the evenings. Located right by Lido Centro so you have access to Rome easily. Ten minute walk from the beach. Restaurants all around open into the night.

    - The hotel has a great atmosphere, here in the reviews I see people complaining about the old equipment, but that's part of it. I like how "retro" it is. It is really nice. - Magnificent view and beautiful surroundings. Entrance to the beach next to the hotel has to be paid, but you can go a little further to the public beach. - There is a direct bus from the city to the airport (leaving from Lido centro). - Breakfast very good! - balcony was amazing

Owner is really helpful and kind person. Apartament was clean and look just like a picture. Lido centro - suburban railway station maximum 10 min walk from the flat. Excellent communication with Rome center (about 40 min drive). Nearby grocery store. Beach on the other side of the street (private one), excellent public beach about 5 min walk. I highly recommend this apartment if you want to combine rest on the beach and sightseeing city centre of Rome.

Proximity to the ocean. Comfortable beds. Clean. The hosts were very kind and Lucia went out of her way to take us to the bus stop (Lido Centro) at the end of our stay. This place was great. We were able to walk to downtown in 15 minutes to enjoy numerous places to eat. The proximity to the beach was great and there are both free and pay-for beaches. There is also a pool at the beach within 10 minutes walking.

Cute clean room with whirpool, close to the beach, shop and train station, but still in quiet place. It is just 5 minutes walking from trainstation Stella polare, great starting point for the trips to Rome or Ostia Antica. 5 minutes walking to the private beach or 10 min. walking to the public beach. Ladies from the staff were kind and helpfull. Breakfasts were tasty.

I got a sea view room which was charmingly decorated and comfortable with a balcony that overlooked the beach with a full view of the ocean. The breakfast was a fantastic spread of all you could want to eat, and the service was friendly and unhurried. The people at the desk were friendly and helpful, and the lobby was quaint, encouraging conversation.

Excellent location, helpful and friendly staff with a great breakfast. The room is well appointed and very comfortable, with a balcony that has an excellent view. You can step out of the hotel directly onto the beach or a promenade with great shops and other attractions. If you need an airport hotel for a quick stay too it is highly recommended.
