The main thing for me was proximity to the ferry terminal. However I found a lovely clean old style hotel with fantastic staff (also with a 24h front desk) and great decor and feeling. LOVED IT!!

Location was very good. Easily accessible.
The staff seemed very friendly at all times.
It had a new turnover of people from the cruise ships almost every day, so it was nice to meet many different characters.
It was a reasonable price for the week.

I would strongly recommend that anyone joining or leaving a cruise at this port to add a couple of days pre or post to experience Italy without hordes of tourists, Civitavecchia offers history and just what everyday living is like. However, be warned when taking a taxi, try to agree on a price up front, and beware of the black Mercedes vans.

We stayed in Civitavecchia because our cruise was leaving from there the following morning. Simona Was an excellent Hostess, The bed was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious. She booked us transportation to the cruise Port And was very accommodating. I accidentally left my medication in the refrigerator. She offered to bring it to me on the ship, but I chose to have her keep it until we returned. She was gracious enough to meet us at the train station and added a cold pack to keep cold on our journey to Sorrento. I would definitely recommend this B&B in Civitavecchia!

Beautiful and quiet town.
Beautiful and quiet town. Everything within walking distance. Favorite place for quick bite was Mastro Titta Pizza within two blocks of Airbnb.
I would recommend staying longer as there is much to do it Civitavecchia. We missed walking along the Harbor, visiting Fort Michaelangelo, and the beaches.
We read about direct Shuttles to the Airport, none were available the day we left because no cruise ships were arriving in Port. Car Service was expensive. We ended up taking the Train, which was not as convenient but not bad at all and at a fraction of the cost!

Of note: there was No Kleenex, NO WiFi password, no shampoo or soap for shower and NOI place in the shower to put such except on the floor, NOT enough signage to locate the building, room, door. NO USB ports, there was an ice bucket, but NO ice, NO towel racks or shelves in the bathroom, NO air conditioning.
Giuseppe and the entire staff was beyond amazing. I can’t tell you how wonderful these
People are. Truly incredible people. Warm and inviting and the barista makes a terrific cappuccino. My wife thought she lost her passport and Giuseppe came to our room personally and helped us search. He was so concerned like it was happening to him. You can’t buy that from any hotel or establishment. Not the fanciest but definitely the most welcoming. I won’t stay anywhere else
When going to Civitavecchia and you shouldn’t either. .
Very warm welcome by the staff. Exceptionally helpful and accommodating.
Arranged our taxi from the airport and the transfer from the hotel to our ship personally assisting us with our luggage at all times.
Location is perfect for the cruise ships. Just a short taxi ride away. View from our balcony was beautiful directly facing the sea where breakfast was organised for us on the day of our departure. Plenty of good restaurants close to the hotel.
We were traveling with a group of friends through Rome and catching our cruise ship for phase II of our vacation. Hotel Porta Di Roma, is a beautifully renovated, exceptionally appointed, and immaculately kept hotel within walking distance to restaurants, shops, the beach, and offering shuttle service to the port for a reasonable fee. A true gem! The owners are so friendly and truly perfect hosts! I highly recommend Hotel Porta Di Roma
Ideal for a short stay. Location fabulous - less than five minute walk to Civitavecchia train station which is great when travelling into Rome each day. If you're staying here due to a cruise holiday and need a room close to the port for a night or two, you won't go far wrong with this one as it does the job. Rooms are spacious and clean, good TV access and room cleaned daily. Breakfast was very nice and reasonably priced.
The rooms are spacious and clean. Our rooms were on the first floor, so we easily got around. The lady in the front is very friendly, when we checked out she gave us an Italy magnet.
The suite has a sauna and the shower is next to the bed. You have to be careful when taking a shower. There is also snacks, fridge, tea kettle, and the suite had a bottle of wine.
Everything. The staff were friendly and helpful and welcoming. Breakfast every morning was very good. Nice variety. Gave us a map where they highlighted the route to get to the train station by foot. They recommended the best restaurant for dinner and provided a shuttle to and from that restaurant. We plan to stay here every time we go to Civitavecchia.
It was right on the sea front and only a short journey to Rome. This meant that we could have both a relaxing holiday and also do some sightseeing. The room was comfortable with all the facilities that we would need. The host was a lovely lady who could not have done enough for us! Thankyou so much for the best holiday!
Staff were wonderful and rooms are large with old style charm , location is excellent and Civitavecchia has improved so much in 10 years its a lovely place to spend a few days, lovely shops and restaurants and promenade , lovely breakfast, staff have good english and very helpful!
The hotel is a great choice if you are taking a cruise from Civitavecchia. The rooms are huge, clean and comfy. Stefano is an excellent, friendly and responsive host. There is a lovely terrace where you can have your espresso and look out to the sea.
The room was beautiful, very clean and the air conditioning worked great, always a concern when I travel to Italy. Also the owner is very kind and accommodates his guests. The location is also perfect, close to all the restaurants and little shops.
Since we are in love with Italy, this place is absolutely beautiful. The hosts are very kind and very good. Hospitality, meticulousness and professionalism are the characteristics of these people and we will definitely come next year.
What a wonderful stay at the Tourist Apartment, a delightful slice of Italy. Fabio was a welcoming & knowledgeable host as he showed us this very clean & modern apartment. We highly recommend a stay here.
The view from our room was absolutely gorgeous! The owner and staff were so friendly and helpful! I would highly recommend these accommodations to anyone staying in Civitavecchia.
The location it’s great for us because we go cruise! Mister Luca and mister Tony our driver they are very friendly! Hotel if was very clean and very comfortable!
Best hotel on Civitavecchia ocean front street! We loved it. The Receptionist team was always busy trying to help everyone. Thank you Hotel Mediterraneo.
