Our stay at the Windermere, Shillong was hassle-free. They didn't insist on payment before arrival, or even on arrival, but at the time of check-out. Place is really beautiful, awesome vibes .Locals are helpful , food is good . Only problem is when you plan your trip , check the weather for upcoming 2-3 days , because continuous rain for the whole day or may be multiple days can ruin your trip . i will recommend to visit this place in Nov - April and may . And yes don’t forget to bring your jackets , warm clothes , Raincoat , umbrella with you . Cause weather changes here like humans. 😝

Shillong is a very nice state capital city in the North Eastern part of India. This is a valley surrounded by mountains, so you can have great sign seeing options.
There are few nice places to visit in the city itself like the hydari park, st xavier's museum, lake etc. The heart of the city, Police Bazar, is very crowded. But it has some good shops and restaurants.
The food scene of Shillong is limited. There are few good restaurants in Police Bazar and in the surroundings. But mostly closed after 7/ 730 in the evening.
If you are staying outside PB, you will have very few food options. And the quality are not good too. Like average noodles and momos.
however, there are a number of places to visit outside Shillong. The Cherrapunjee area, The Mawliyong area with the living root bridge etc. Jowai and Krang Shuri falls, though a bit far

Peaceful place with helping people and their everlasting smiles and hospitality makes this place worth for everything. people here are simple and genuine, they are happy in the little ,they lead a simple life and work hard for it. I have not seen child labour here. There were No chotu's on any of the shops . Taxis are available everywhere or otherwise you can walk up. A life is not enough to explore shillong. I went to east khasi hills and got thrilled with its beauty. But there is much much more...
It's a beautiful place. Those who love nature will find beauty in every small Little thing here. Would like to come again and again.

I recently took a trip to Shillong and was blown away by its beauty. The city is surrounded by rolling hills and lush greenery, making it a nature lover's paradise. Overall, I would highly recommend Shillong as a travel destination for anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating experience. Make sure you get a personal bike for rent to explore everything.
While staying there u can have the old Shillong vibe somehow..It felt like staying in your own home surroundied by coolness of nature.
They provided a lot of things like an electric kettle, extra utensils, washing machine, geyser, Netflix, free wifi, a reading place and reading light, books, comfortable sofas, a good environment and a rope swing outside.
The transportation was good cause u can always catch a bus (20 rs) or taxi to Police Bazar so not to worry about staying far from the centre. U can go for it.
The room was nice and spacious. The bungalow itself is large and feels comfortable with it's wooden interior. It's located slightly on the edge of the city which we enjoyed, since Shillong itself gets quite hectic.
Ashang and his staff took great care of us with making breakfast and dinner for us. The food was simple, homely and very nice. We had 4 good nights here. We were also allowed to wash our clothes there. We used the place as a starting point for 2 day trips to the beautiful sights in Meghalaya.
Super Stay , I EXTENDED 1 DAY , SINCE THEY DIDNT HAVE THE SAME ROOM AVAILABLE THEY GAVE ME A QUEEN ROOM .WHICH WAS HUGEST ROOM I LIVED IN ANY OF MY TRAVELS .

If you want a peaceful stay in Shillong away from the crowds of Police Bazar, this place would be perfect. It is a very beautiful traditional Khasi house with a very well maintained garden, and the owner is friendly and helpful. As a bonus, they have 3 cute dogs. Restaurants in the Laitumkhrah area are a short walking distance from the property.
The location was great. It was just beside the police bazaar center point, the heart of Shillong. So travelers can easily enjoy the nightlife, explore around, shop, book taxis, and exchange money which are just a few steps away from this hotel. The complimentary breakfast did not have many items but it was good enough to start the day.
Everything is very very good. Parking is there. Wifi is there. Room service is there. Big dining room and restaurant is there. Super value for money. The complementary breakfast is also very very good. Staffs are nice. Location is nice. Plus the hotel is so much beautiful. You will feel like you are in a big 5 star resort
Hotel was very nice. Mr. Nandu Ali (Manager) is very friendly & co-operative. We got our breakfast after 8 am. But day tour started from Meghalaya Tourism at 8 am. Property person should look into it. They will serve breakfast at 8 am for tourist. Otherwise everything is very much satisfied.

I came back to the place just after 3 days stay in 2 other hotel/stays in Meghalaya. The staff is by far more polite than other places.The room is clean, has extra quilt, has room heater and proper hot water to shower. Breakfast was simple but nice.
