The location is stunning, the staff were friendly, the food from the restraunt was gorgeous, the shower was great the views from the front door were spectacular, the pod was very clean and had everything you would need for a break away., including plates, glasses for drinks and a kettle and even a microwave. . It also had instant hot water which we loved. We actually loved our stay our dog Jack loved the water just outside our pod and enjoyed sitting by the door when we were relaxing in the evening.

The local knowledge of Mary and her family added greatly to our visit.

We started the week on the Wild Atlantic Way in Ballybunion. We went on to Ballyferriter , Portmagee, Parknasilla and finished in Castletownbere. The scenery is wonderful. We would not have left any town out. All had something to offer.

Castletownbere is a fabulous place to visit.
Castletownbere is a fabulous place to visit. It is such a good base making it very easy to visit surrounding areas including Garnish, Dursry Island, Glengariff, Bantry, Kenmare and so on.
There is also an excellent rural bus service now which is great for people that don’t drive and it runs all through the year
There is a good variety of shops to visit and some lovely little pubs and bars including the fabulous McCarthys which has a lot of character and has a little shop inside, a great place to visit. Then there’s Harrington’s store and you can but almost anything there including little gifts to take home. Lynch’s is a lovely place to eat and do lovely food including vegetarian options. There are lots of hairdresser and beauty studios if needed

There is so much to do in this area.
There is so much to do in this area. Beautiful gardens you could spend half a day if not a full day. Scenery will exceed all your expectations. I have travelled all over the world and reland still remains the most beautiful country. The food in the pubs we randomly went into was lovely and fairly priced.

Castletownbere is a lovely fishing town in the south west of Ireland. It has a number of great cafes and restaurants. In addition to being a very picturesque place, it is within deriving distance of everywhere on the amazing Bear peninsula, which in my opinion is one of the most beautiful places to see in Ireland.
Great location... absolutely lovely owner... welcoming...we asked for recommendation for dinner...she actually made the dinner reservation for us!
Room lovely, comfortable and clean... chocolates for us on arrival...
Nice and quiet night made for a great night's sleep.
Continental breakfast included... mind blowing variety of food...from cereals, cheeses, meats, fish, breads, scones, fruit... one of the best layouts for breakfast I've seen.. better than many hotels I've been in...
Absolutely brilliant all round..
Location, lodge's. Owners thoughtful breakfast items left in fridge, along with tea, coffee, lovely thought. The lodge's have everything you need. Beautiful views, reasonably close to the town of castletownbere. Due to COVID, there was limited options for eating out.
We had a fantastic family stay in the pods. With kids it was better than any hotel as they could run outside while we were cooking BBQ / snack/ breakfast etc … very happy and definitely in plans to return
If travelling to Castletownbere then this is a great place to stay, which is in the centre of the town.
The staff are extremely helpful and altogether a very pleasant stay.
