The cottage's view of the lake is superb! The location is a little bit outside Tuktuk which means you can enjoy a quiet stay. We stayed there in march, out of season, so the complex felt empty which gave the impression you have the place for yourself

This hotel is on great location. It closed to many restaurants. Aside from that, they also have quite spacious car parking area. Our room was clean and cozy, but the veranda has many fallen leaves (no problem). Great morning view. They have their own private pier for those who left their vehicle at Parapat. Also, when high tide, you will have private pool which connect to Lake Toba. The breakfast is also considered good. And they also give you free basic amenities.

There isn’t much to do but the tranquility of the place is superb. Peaceful with good low temperature between 19 deg C - 22 deg C. A place to unwind and relax.
The next time I will look for the hot springs.

The scene there was beautiful and breath-taking. The whole of Samosir will likely only take you about 3-4 days to finish visiting if you have transport. However, my partner and I were there for 8 days and took our time walking around and relaxing. We do believe we could have shifted accommodations to another part of Samosir though.

Tuktuk is a beautiful and comfortable place for a vacation, its location on the shores of Lake Toba which is not sandy so you can jet sky but not play on the sand on the beach. many inns ranging from home stay to hotel. Currently December 2022, most of the properties are not well maintained, there are boats from Parapat to Tuktuk.

Tuk Tuk is a small chilled out place on Samosir island, easy to reach by ferry from Parapat (30 mins) or Balige (1 hour) there are some lovely people here on the island and plenty of options nearby,. The best thing to do it rent a scooter go for it. I went round the entire island scouting for best spots and village life. in mu opionon, head South from Tuk Tuke, lakeside on your left and after about 30 mins of travel you will be way up in the hills and mountain side - specatcular, watching Eagles and Hawks hunting up close from the vantage points - worth every effort and simply stunning views of the lake!
Put Lake Toba on your bucket list!

Laster Jony's is truly amazing! I loved it here! The staff are very friendly and very professional. My room was beautiful and also the hotel guest area was great to meet up with other guests and also to eat the amazing food! The fish curry is out of this world! Rent your motorbike here too because they are regularly checked over. I thought the position of the hotel was spot on - close enough for the fantastic bars and restaurants but far enough away from the early morning jet skiers that other hotels had to endure!
The view from my hotel room is stunning, i woke up in the morning and go straight to the balcony to enjoy my morning view. The staff is good also, help if we need something. The shower room is new and work very well. The hot water also working. There is no aircon but they provide fan. Nothing much to say but I would like to recommend those who want to stay here for vacation. Very strategic and near to the bar and restaurant.
Great place to stay on Samosir Island. Good rooms for decent prices, located at a quiet and nice garden with a view on the lake. Also good working wifi inside the room. In their restaurant, opposite the road, they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can also rent a scooter which is very usefull at Samosir if you want to make excursions by yourself. And a friendly and helpfull host. What more do you need?
It is a nice guest house by the lake and it has a good restaurant with a terrace, where the family cooks a wide range of dishes (European as well as Indonesian dishes). My room had the private bathroom and a small terrace overlooking the lake. They have a pier a few hundred meters from the guest house where the boat from Parapat will drop you.
We loved the room, well furnished with many storage to store your clothes.

We've got upgrade to a room with lakeview and balcony. It is comfortable airy and the room is clean. Staff is helpful to backpackers like us in term of giving tourism information, road condition foe automatic motorbike. There is hot/cold water to refill. Silent location. Very good sandwich in neighbourhood (marcopolo warung)
The lake view was stunning and the bed was the most comfortable I had for years in any hotel. When you come from Parapat via ferry, there is an option to leave the ferry directly next to the property, just ask the guys running boats :) Same when you leave, they can pick you up directly at the doorstep of your guesthouse.
Everything was perfect, friendly and helpful staff , great location, nice and cozy rooms, just a few meters away from the lake, the view from the restaurant was great so you can have a meal or a drink while enjoying the beautiful scenery. The room is located directly at the lake which gives a fantastic view. The personnel is friendly and the breakfast is great! The hotel is located at walking distance of some lovely bars, restaurants and wood shops. You can also rent a scooter at the hotel to explore the island which I can highly recommend!
Beautiful bungalow & view, very comfortable and relaxing for a few nights. We didn't eat at the restaurant - we discovered Coffee2go and Rosalie's as per a previous review, and didn't want to eat anywhere else! Rented a good scooter here for 100k.
The atmosphere at Juma cottages was perfect, definitely compared to the other big and abandoned hotels around tuktuk. Pino and his wife were super helpful and we felt right at home. Rooms were big and very clean and were better than the pictures.
Amazingly friendly sister of the owner managing the place, rented a scooter through her and drove around the island. Delicious and very affordable breakfast, especially the soursop smoothie! Nice view from the room, also larger than expected.
