Uluwatu has been a surfer's destination for many years but latelky it has become the "in" place in Bali. Shops and outlets from Canggu and elsewhere have moved there. Restaurants are packed. There is construction going on everywhere. I think Uluwatu will be good for a year or two and then it would be overdeveloped and lose much of its laid back atmosphere.

I got what I came for - the cliffs, the surfers, the amazing tucked-away beaches, and a gem of a hotel. Uluwatu continually surprises - though I only had a few days to enjoy it, a highlight was watching the surfing off of Suluban, and my favorite cultural activity was the sunset kecak performance at Uluwatu Temple - unmissable!

Uluwatu would be great if you are into surfing and beach.
Uluwatu would be great if you are into surfing and beach. Not many restaurants or shopping if that’s what you are into. I found a good massage place and a couple of cool vegan eateries. I only went to Uluwatu because a retreat that I had booked fell through so I decided to head closer to the airport as these were my last 4 days. Lots of rubbish and construction in Uluwatu. I ate at Alchemy a lot and it was great people watching and my massage and awesome scrub was at a place called something like Lineka

Nice coast, good for experienced surfers.
Nice coast, good for experienced surfers. Various beaches to visit. Good places to eat though a bit more expensive that other parts of Bali. Less culture here, quite western which was reflected in the menu choices. Uluwatu temple is worth a visit.

The Room exceeded our expectations. After travelling around Bali for a month staying in big resorts and villas our final place to stay was The Room. This is a lovely boutique hotel right in the hub of everything but once you walk into the courtyard you are in a tranquil space. Our room was small but comfortable. The breakfast was substantial and the cherry on the top was the staff who greet you with big smiles and keep the place spotlessly clean. I would definitely stay here again if I was ever in Uluwatu.
We recently stayed at the Jumeirah Bali hotel and were enchanted by the beauty of the place and the impeccable cleanliness of the villas. The staff was remarkably kind, making our stay even more enjoyable. Special mention goes to the Akasa restaurant, which not only offers high-quality cuisine but also allows you to enjoy a breathtaking sunset in a magical setting.
My Family and I recently stayed at Anantara Uluwatu Bali and had an amazing experience. The room was spacious and offered stunning views—truly a highlight of the trip. The hotel breakfast was fantastic with a great variety, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the stay even more enjoyable.
Really nice villa that is well appointed and very comfortable for a stay in Bali. On the south end of Uluwatu and a little bit away from everything which in some respects was nice. Super helpful staff. Nice vibe and feel and open plan living set by the pool.
A good spot near Uluwatu center to rest between exploring. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was okay, standard for bali hotel breakfast. Worth the price.
