BREAKFAST WAS AWESOME. ANDTHERE was so much food at every meal I had to ask for less. The staff were fabulous. Nyoman, Agus, Wayan, Yoga etc... everyone was superb. The yoga classes were mostly good, tho some of the teachers need to improve their English and teaching skills (sorry). Alternative poses need to be suggested to those with injuries or older people. and it is always good to be told what each pose does for the body and how it helps.

Chameleon Villa Bali, hotel in Tabanan

Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a private pool, river view and a balcony, Chameleon Villa Bali is located in Tabanan.

Beautiful villa. Very friendly staff. Perfect for a family with small children. We were with two kids aged 2 and 5. Very personal attention. We found one staircase to be unsafe and within an hour, a board was crafted for us to make the staircase safe. Everything is beautifully designed with a gorgeous garden and pool. Lovely river views. We stayed for four nights and enjoyed all the luxury. We actually spent most of our time at the villa, it felt like home. We had guests over who could comfortably sleep in the guest quarters.

If you are looking for a place which has stunning views and is peaceful and quiet, then this is your place! We had the best stay! The host Komang was very accommodating and went out of his way to make sure everything was ok. He even went to the shops to get things we ran out of. Being a bit remote from everything Komang dropped us off at the local restaurants or picked up takeaway. He even offered to be our driver for the next few days taking us around to all these amazing tourist attractions. Komang spoke very good english and told us a lot of history about his culture and the places we were visiting. Normally you need to book him in advance if you want him as your driver, so we were lucky he was available. His rates were very reasonable and he even dropped us off at the airport. The views and nature around the accommodation was breathtaking and very peaceful! Breakfast every morning was very delicious and was brought to our cabin where we had stunning views of the rainforest. Thankfully, not the season of bugs so we had our windows open all night listening to all the different sounds from the forest. Being out most of the day the evenings were a bit cool for swimming so we didn’t really swim, but the pool looked very inviting. We loved our stay and hope to be back again in the future.

I can't generalize the whole area because it's really big.

I can't generalize the whole area because it's really big. There are some nice views and, surely, there are many places to visit. But the transfers take too much time, bumpy roads, hilly, upside-down, left-to-right and so on. You have to have a lot of patience to go there.

The beaches in this area not very good.

The beaches in this area not very good. To travel to any tourist land mark takes minimum 30 minutes buy scooter. Grab and Gojek not available in this area. So need to definitely rent a scooter. I booked 13 days stayed 10 and left. Yhe shower had a water saver shower head, took a really long time to actually get wet using it. Ended up removing shower head and showering under open hole. Food was terrible at resort. Was sick first 4 days then started eating at other areas. There is honestly nothing of interest near this location. Internet had problems with wifi modem everyday, lucky to get 30 minutes use each day. Laundry was cheap. Local food cheap. But everything else was just bad

So good to be away from busy South Bali.

So good to be away from busy South Bali. Here it is all about real balinese life and tradition. For sure the main road is just a way to go there but once you step out of it this is lush, nature, villages with soul.

Tabanan is the region of Bali south of Denpasar and north of...

Tabanan is the region of Bali south of Denpasar and north of Kuta etc. So although it includes Tanah Lot - the very popular Hindu beach temple, it also has many unspoilt areas of rice fields, farms, very pretty, clean villages and glorious empty beaches although we didn't swim due to the rips on our local beach. There is a marvellous pottery in Pejatan where you can not only buy some lovely local ceramics but do classes as well. We also visited the Subak museum (we were the only visitors there and had a guide take us round) where they explain the village rice growing organisations and the Mangarana Memorial Park which has a war memorial commemorating all the Balinese who died against the Dutch in the war of independence in 1949 and the graves of the 89 guerillas who died in an actual battle there, including their leader, I Gusti Ngurah Rai (after whom the Airport at Denpasar is named) The driver from our hotel showed us his Uncles grave, which has their village name on it. So much to see but such rural quiet if you want it; great area for cycling or walking and exploring.

MY REVIEW OF TABANAN ITSELF WAS GREAT.

MY REVIEW OF TABANAN ITSELF WAS GREAT. BUT AS FOR THE ACCOMMODATION, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYBODY. BOOKED THE ARYA RIVERSIDE VILLA AND ENDED UP HAVING TO FIND ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION DUE TO THE FACT THAT WE BOOKED THIS VILLA IN FEB 2019 FOR 2 NIGHTS IN JULY. GAVE OUR CREDIT CARD AND PAID FOR THIS ACCOMMODATION. GOT TO THE VILLA TO FIND IT PADLOCKED UP AND NOBODY AROUND TO BOOK US IN WAITED 2 HOURS FOR SOMEONE TO TURN UP AND SEVERAL PHONE CALLS TO THE NUMBER ON OUR BOOKING SHEET - NO ANSWER ON THAT PHONE. NO TELEPHONE NUMBERS AT THE VILLA TO CALL ANYONE TO OPEN UP THE VILLA. HAD TO LEAVE AFTER 2 HOURS TO FIND OUR ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION. WE ARE TRYING TO NOW GET A FULL REFUND FROM THE COMPANY. NO JOY YET. VERY ANRGY AND DISAPPOINTED WITH BOOKING.COM AND THE OWNERS OF THE VILLA. WENDY EVERY

    This place was amazing.

This place was amazing. Far away from everything except a restaurant up the beach which was a bit expensive but ok and a few tiny local shops. It’s unique and has magical gardens that are very highly maintained. Situated between rice fields and the black sandy beach. What a perfect escape for a couple to a family. Would definitely recommend.

Everything was really great. The staff were attentive, kind and helpful. The layout of the hotel is wonderful. The surroundings are picturesque and peaceful. It was quiet, private and absolutely beautiful. Waking up to the rice fields and the rich history was a delightful start to the day. The room we had was amazing, with an outdoor bathroom and an indoor toilet, a large room with an amazing intricate wooden roof. Tile floors and a day bed, with an outdoor area, there was definitely a comfortable amount of space for my children and I.

The resort is lovely. The Villa is very spacious and comfortable. The amenities are delightful and easy to access. The breakfast is simple but very tasty and has perfect portions. We found that after breakfast we were full until dinner. The resort although remote , it is a free service to the lively town of Canggu that has lots of restaurants and shops. There is a couple of lovely restaurants just a short stroll down the beach if you want a change from the hotel. However the hotels food is reasonably priced and tasty.

I liked the delicious breakfast, full of options. The round bathtub in the balcony, the outdoors shower. The size of the room ( really spacious). The view of the cascade from the pool was also beautiful, the yoga class… I liked everything. The hotel is beautiful, super quiet, no noise anywhere ( even the music at the restaurant is not too loud), and, the rooms are great (they have everything, even a nice book full of pictures of the Bali gardens in the room). And the staff is super nice and polite.

Our villa with private pool was exceptional. A huge sitting room and two equally large bedrooms made it a very relaxing place for our family of two adults and two children (11 and 9). Bathrooms for both bedrooms are very sizeable and the extra ‘outdoor’ showers were very cool. Outside, the private pool was a little oasis for us. Plenty big enough for a family of four to play and relax. The scale of the property is further demonstrated by a large seating area.

Loving the Balinese style of jungle resort. Enjoyed breakfast with jungle and pool view. Everyday they clean your room and refresh your towels. when you out and about and come back a.c and your bedroom lights will be on. Miss chica is just a very happy lovey lady. We loved her so much. She just brightened up your day. They don't have pictures of the private pool in booking but it's approximately 2 meters long and 180 wide.

Our stay at Ranggon D’tukad was an absolute highlight of our several weeks in Bali thus far! The villa is private and along a beautiful rice field and river/stream. The warung they run has incredible (and affordable) traditional balinese food. Ketut is, and has been, deeply involved in the local community and is an amazing resource to learning the area. Rest and respite are truly found here in this incredibly serene stay!

Adventurous family friendly hotel in the jungle of Bali. We travelled with 3 kids, ranging from 6 to 17 years old and they all liked it. The trekking tour of 1,5 hours through the banana and coffee plants was educational and fun. The visit to 3 waterfalls with a picnic was also very well organised: even our 6 year old to keep up the pace (2,5 hours). Friendly staff, nice food.

Perfect place to stay in Tabanan! The room was small, but very cozy and everything was super clean. A very nice garden to chill and free water. But my highlight was the incredible nice and helpful host Tan: She helped me organising everything (bike, laundry, transport), although it was a holiday. I felt very welcome and would always go back. Thank you very much!

Its beautifully located within the rice terraces. It’s very quiet but also offers a lot of activities, like yoga, massages or even a cooking class which you can easily book via WhatsApp. One guy at the reception was especially nice and helpful. He even drove us to the main road when we had issues getting a Grab at the hotel.
