He shared with great enthousiasm knowledge and tips about the area. The first evening he took the initiative to drive us to some off-the-beaten track temples.
The following day we could borrow bicycles and discover some more. Unbelievable but true: because he felt we took quite some time, he drove to the temple to check if we were ok 😁 (of course we were. We were just having a great time cruising by bike across the Java countryside).
