Its a small property, with a cozy feel. I like the furnishing, wood, basic & simple design. Woke up in the morning, and find pink flowers floating in the pool. I feel it is rustic and charming.

Why did I wait so long to visit? A true surprise.
Why did I wait so long to visit? A true surprise. Not as tourist-geared as Ubud/Bali. Authentic, catering to local domestic travellers, yet with a world class heritage attraction. Friendly locals, though the touts selling souvenirs did get annoying.

I returned to see Borobodur after 31 years. It was as impressive as it was the last time. Everything around the temple is much better organized and channeled through the officials.
Still an amazing thing to do - I would recommend to read up on Borobodur before your visit to better understand all the stories behind it and its place in the Javanese and South East Asian history.

The information given by the guide is good and interesting, despite the fact that I am a Buddhist, there is much to learn from this trip. The thousand years old structure is just awesome but I must stress that anyone who wants to visit must do a little "home work" by reading up about Candi Borobudur , otherwise you might not catch some of the meaning behind the Candi and Buddhism. The Candi is fragile due to thousands of visitors and I urge everyone to visit with care and respect.

Borobudur temple is always so grand to look at and enjoyable in early morning or late afternoon. The history within the walls are just mesmerizing to look at.
After 9 am until around 3pm and on clear day, the sun gets too hot.
Having hats or umbrellas and plenty of water and sunscreen might help. But they won't stop the swarming sellers, before the entrance and after the exit, coming at you. So just be firm and polite and keep on walking if you do not want to buy anything from them. But if you do want to buy some souvenirs, you could bargain to a reasonable price.
I suggest to have a walk to the entrance stairs of the temple and don't forget to wear your comfortable walking shoes too.
This time around we took delman or horse carriage for around 5 minutes ride (less than 10 mins ride for sure) to the entrance stairs of the temple and, if not wrong, it cost around AUD20.
They also provide other services like train cars for a fee (can't remember how much), but I think it is better to hire them when you finished touring the temple and when your legs are too tired or when it's just too hot. Unless you want to explore the other facilities around (on the way to the exit) like checking out their museums and theatre.
You are not allowed to bring food or snacks into the temple complex (water is allowed). They will keep them for you to collect at the exit. So make sure you have enough food before going in.
We've never been to their restaurant/hotel in the complex, because there are plenty of choices of food just outside the complex.
For getting around outside the complex, in general, there are too many cars and motorbikes around the area, so you may want to keep walking on whatever pedestrian path available.
Cash is still preferable in the food chains and stalls outside the temple complex

Ofcourse its one of the things to see when your travels take you close to it. But it is a tourist trap. You can go in from 8.00 in the morning (not earlier anymore, like before you could go for sunrise, that is not possible anymore). You have to take a guided tour if you want to go up. The guide tells a lot about the history and is well trained. The costs are 500.000 rupiah pp. if you only walk around at the bottom it’s 350.000 rupiah. Before you leave the park you are guided through a fairly large market with touristy souvenirs.

The temple of Borobudur needs no review, it stands on his own.
New visiting rules (on 11/04/2023). Closed on monday. Reception opens on 06.30, but only for the parc. At 08.00 you can buy a ticket to go on the temple, and waiting till 09.00. Then they formed little groups of 15-20 people to go on the temple with a guide ! Visit lasts about one hour.
This accommodation was the best on our trip. The small individual houses are very nicely furnished, bright and clean. There is a covered dining area in the centre, which is also great for drinking coffee. The location is in the middle of rice fields with a view of the Borobudur temple. You can reach it on foot in about 20 minutes, but there are also bicycles available. The breakfast is wonderful, Leni and Watik prepare a great dinner in the evening on request. If you are looking for a very cosy oasis of well-being, this is the place for you.
the staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to accommodate our requests. They were able to extend breakfast time due to our visit to Borobudur temple and gave me a private space to teach yoga classes in the morning and evenings to my group. Breakfast was delicious and we also chose to have dinner there once, which was really good. The hotel is very close to the temple. there is a big pool which is definitely a bonus. we booked massages through the hotel as well, and although it was a bit pricey, they were really good.
This hotel is a cute paradise, lost in the middle of the countryside.
Bungalows are really nice, it is very calm and relaxing. The food there is amazing. If you want to walk to the city center, this is only 20 minutes and feasible. Really. You ll see amazing sunset when passing by the other rumah dharma hotel.
The other Rumah Dharma hotel seems really nice too but we definitely had a preference for ours, more more intimate.
Take one of their bicycle to go around the village and go to wahu tipuh. Amazing there !!
The whole resort is excellent, catering for a small number of guests in highly luxurious villas.
The resort has very friendly staff members throughout but I want to give special recognition to the whole team in the Patio restaurant, both the experienced staff members and those in training who provided excellent service: professional, warm and responsive to our requests.
Also special credit to the cleaning and ground staff who keep the rooms and the outside spaces immaculate.
Highly recommended.
It was very clean and had all the things a traveller needed, like soap, tooth paste, towels, coffee, tea and a big flask of hot water! It was a very short bike ride from Borobudur! After a tiring visit to Borobudur temple, i was able to have a hot bath and some tea and relax with the TV!
The owner Habiba was very helpful and kind! When my Gojek app did not work she called a taxi for me via Gojek and I paid her the 120K IDR to get to bus station!
Our favourite stop of our trip. We booked this hotel last minute and ended up extending our stay. The rooms are beautiful, we were given a room facing out towards the rice fields, watching the sunrise here was beautiful. The staff were all so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was delicious, especially the Indonesian snacks! Bikes on property are free of charge so you can explore the town! We were very sad to leave!
My travel plans were delayed by several hours and I ended up arriving at Amata Borobudur at 1am, I gave them advanced notice and even with my insane schedule the security guard and receptionists were waiting for my arrival which I greatly appreciated after the long drive. The resort also had really nice rooms and food including one of the nicest breakfasts I've ever had in any hotel, who knew I'd end up loving chicken sausage!
Location was near Borobudur temple.Private swimming pool was best for family. The owner was so kind and feels like home .All the staffs were very kind, respect and helpful. We love all their services.Arranged transport to do tour as we were very convenience as we have child. They upgraded us to bigger room as well. The breakfast is good and the food we ordered was delicious.Thank you to everyone and we will come back again.
A truly beautiful place with an amazing relaxing design that fulfils the whole experience of visiting the Borobudur Temple. The hotel is very close to the temple. The food was excellent, fresh and tasty. The staff was very friendly and responsive. The room was sparkling clean.
The bathroom has less privacy, but it was not a big deal. It's just something that might be important to know.
Superb location. Rice fields on both sides You can see the Borobudur temple from the restaurant. Quiet. Javanese style rooms. Breakfast was excellent, being a vegetarian I did not have to eat Nasi Goreng! Confortabe beds, good hot shower, clean towels, friendly staff. They have free bicycles you can use which us very convenient in Borobodur to go around the little village.
Magic place surrounded by nature and rice fields, the best solution for visit Borobudur temple and take a break from the caos of the city.
Beautiful swimming pool and Javanese bungalows, Bobby is so funny and do his best to make you feel relaxed and at home.
Breakfast super and tour organized by Bobby among rice fields with local people was the best experience we had!
hotel staff is excellence, friendly and quick to response (only takes 2-3 min when we complain, why our room is not tidy up).
steal deal on couples massage package, great view ( a bit block by roof ) but the massage therapist is best.
also much appreciate, when our kids want to swim, but pools is fully book, they refer to pools villa, THANK YOU and appreciate :)
Perfectly situated at the heart of town near Borobudur. But more importantly, the hosts gave me a very localised experience. They were very welcoming and gave me the ins and outs of the area. Come here if you want something more personal instead of typical tourist experience.
The location is amazing, you are right next to the temple, inside the complex. Very easy to access. The hotel itself was nice in terms of layout and style. Great dining area with view to the temple and park surrounding.
The Guesthouse is well-located, full of street food anywhere and really close to Borobudur Temple. Owner is super-kind and polite and helped me a lot!
This homestay is really worth it!
The meals were great and the staff were friendly. The staff would go out of their way to help me, and other inconveniences that I expect were caused by lousy hotel management.
