It is an excellent option. Location is quite central, so you can move fast from everywhere. The service was very nice, and all the people were super helpful. Finally, the breakfast... it is absolutely worthy... In many good hotels you have the same buffet... not here. Semarang is a beautiful historic city, with lots of old...
Semarang is a beautiful historic city, with lots of old buildings and quite a few of them beautifully reinstated and renovated. It is also quite liberal with a good mix of churches and mosques. Because of that, you do see a lot of lovebirds around and once night falls, the colourful Rikshaws ornamented with glowing unicorns and other animals lighten up the city centre.
We will definitely try to visit another time.

Lovely city, lots to do and see between the old colonial town center and the newer part of the city. Lovely buildings, nice architecture, some small parks, and typical kampong like Pelangi and Batik Kampong.
The old Dutch train station was turned into a museum, open to the public for the train lovers.
Also the recipient for the #1 cleanest city in Indonesia award Semarang lives up to its reputation.

Semarang has a little bit of everything.
Semarang has a little bit of everything. A good mix of old town vs. new development, a hot sunny day in lower part of the town vs. breezy higher part of the town where you can relax and enjoy the rest of your evening. A foodie heaven, as well as a great place for those who seeks historical sites that scattered around the city, as well as the ones available through 1/2-1 hour drive away from the city center.

I made a mistake to go back to Semarang on the way from...
I made a mistake to go back to Semarang on the way from Surabaya to Jakarta and spend 4 days there. It was not Semarang I remembered from 30 years ago. I should have stayed in Surabaya instead or ANY other city than Semarang.
It has interesting touristic spots, but you need tome to get there and its very far from each other, Up to you, I spend 3 days too much there.

I picked the wrong time to travel to Semarang, it was raining the whole evening that we had to cancel going to Semawis (weekend culinary night open market) and riding the bike around Simpang Lima. Otherwise, Semarang at night would have been amazing.
Managed to visit Kota Lama, Lawang Sewu and Sam Poo Kong, though. For a very short period of visit, it was worth it.
The hotel has that old-school luxury with a modern touch. It has that spacious room and spacing that the old hotel has with a new and contemporary interior. The reception lobby is huge which many new hotels do not incorporate. It is located within the heart of Semarang and in the exact location as Paragon mall with restaurants, shops, a supermarket, and a cinema. It is very convenient if you suddenly need something you can just walk to the mall and get it. The room itself is nice and clean and the food is good as well.

Excellent value for the money. It's a quaint little boutique hotel in the heart of old town. While the rooms are small the beds are large and comfy. The staff was amazing and the breakfast was rather unique, you order from 6 choices and they also have fruits and cereal as well. Oh, and don't forget to try the soft server icer cream down near the lobby, yummy.
The location is excellent. quite in the city center and close to a few malls and food centers. If you're staying for a holiday, this place is great to reach any Landmarks in Semarang. The room is quite spacious (not to big, not to small). Plenty space to put your luggage. The bed is comfortable. The AC & hot water is working properly.
The staffs are friendly. The room is so spacious. The bed is big enough for 2 adults and 1 kid. Lot of option for breakfast and most of it are tasty. The location is not too far to Kota Tua. If you want to try local culinary, Warung Pakne Heksa is the best option near the hotel.
Near central location. Nearby practically everywhere in central Semarang with value of money and pretty clean space like home design (not quite hotel design). The owner has WIFI router in the room so you dont have to connect to WR residence WIFI.
We stayed here for a night in Semarang - a great place to stay right in the heart of Old Town. The facilities are great for a capsule hotel (and a cool experience too), with nice quiet, airconditioned pods and clean shared bathrooms.
A good hotel offering a nice breakfast. Although we were told that breakfast started at 7:00 am , a document in the room indicated 6:30 am while in reality we could eat as of 6:00 am. No all staff had proper English language skills.
