We were upgraded to the Manor room and were very impressed as it was large and very comfortable. For a country pub, dinner and breakfast were most acceptable.

Such a fascinating structure to be in, the dome was susceptible to the weather, but there's plenty of out door space when it's hot and plenty of indoor space and heating when it's cold. when the trees get established and create shade it will be perfect.

The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The Thorold was very clean and decorated to a high standard. Our bedroom was excellent with great facilities. Our evening meal was of a high standard and very enjoyable.

EVERYTHING at this B & B was exceptional. Located just off the A1....in a lovely road. Parking on a private drive. Its very quiet...but so close & easy to get into town. Warm welcome, amazing room with everything you might think you'd need & more. Bedding was sublime, superb quality. Breakfast was perfect & delicious...great selection to choose from...hosts were an absolute delight...atmosphere so warm & friendly. 5* is a minimum..loved it...Cannot recommend highly enough. 👏 👏

Huge comfy bed, they mentioned the room could be noisy and we were competing the next day and they upgraded our room to a quiet one . Really helpful . Lovely place

Excellent and friendly staff. Well appointed room, lovely restaurant good menu choice and CAMRA beers! Ideal quiet location off the A1 to break the journey for visiting family next day. Busy food pub so book table in advance.
