Skegness was as fun packed as it always is when we visit.
Skegness was as fun packed as it always is when we visit. With trips to the Aquarium, Natureland, the aracades and the fun fair. A good selection of places to eat and drink that are family friendly. Other nearby coastal locations are easy to access for a day out. If you want to leave the car behind then there are plenty of buses available.
If i could have had better weather to spend more time on the beach with my toddler it would have been perfect.

Skegness is your typical seaside resort, on a decent day it was fine but the weather was dreadful so we found little to do. We did the dinosaur world and aquatic centre but unless you like arcades there isn't much else. The rides in the theme park closed due to the weather so we were left wondering around and going back to the site. On a good day however the beach is lovely, there's donkeys, a fair ground, outdoor swimming at the nearby leisure centre, crazy golf and the usual seaside stuff.
The food can be costly and gluten free fish & chips x 3 cost nearly £50 which I thought was steep. There was plenty of chip shops you could shop around for a better deal as long as you don't have allergy's. There are supermarkets locally so if your like us and you have cooking facilities it's easy to do your own food.
We have an electric car and quick chargers are few and far between. There is one at the Co-Op but it's a max 1hr stay and if you end up queuing for it then you don't get a full charge. There are slow chargers at B&M so if parking for the day it's OK but expensive.
On the whole Skegness is great for families and kids of all ages

Not overly crowded in early May which made the stay relaxing. Pleasant region with Boston and Lincoln nearby to visit. Several good cafes and bars throughout the town together with the usual seaside amusements.

Dont believe all the negative reviews about Skegness being...
Dont believe all the negative reviews about Skegness being the worst seaside resort in the Country - even today 14/05/24 in the Daily Telegraph online version an article was proclaiming such!
I first went when to Skegness / Ingoldmells when 13 back in 1975 and while I left an almost 40 year gap between my follow-up visit in 2014 - I return several times a year in summer ever since and always look forward to it for a cost effective break & good fresh sea clean air.
I also go to Blackpool, Bournemouth as frequently as I do Skegness and while all three places & beaches have their own unique appeal - Me personally I think Skegness is better that Blackpool & Bournemouth - I prefer the beach to the other two & the cost if you know where to go & when to book is way cheaper than going to Bournemouth and probably on par with Blackpool.
The location of the hotel was spot on; 2 minutes from the beach, 5 minutes from the town centre and on a quiet road. Alan and Jackie made us feel really welcome on arrival with a cup of coffee. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable but the best thing of all was the cooked breakfast. I'm not normally a fried bread fan but I was persuaded to have it and I wasn't disappointed - definitely a speciality. Lots of free parking which is always a plus. To sum it up, it was like home from home. Lovely stay.
Nice welcome and everything was explained quickly and clearly. Very clean room with clean minimal decor (which I like) and tea & coffee in the room.
Good shower with easy-to-control hot water and the towels were like having a cuddle, very good quality. The bed was nice and comfortable.
Easy access with keys after hours and a great location just a 3-4 mins walk from the seafront and town centre.
Lovely friendly guesthouse, happy to stay again.
The hotel was in a great location, it was an easy walk to the sea front or the town centre. Lynne and Wayne were very friendly hosts and onsite parking was a bonus. The room was nicely decorated and the tea/coffee facilities were plentiful. The bed was very comfortable too. We had breakfast in the morning and couldn’t fault it at all and we would definitely stay there again.
On the whole the hotel was very calm compared to the actual holiday site and facilities as a whole. The beds were really comfy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Buffet Breakfast was good and worth paying for. It was easy to get the bus into Skegness (£2.60 return). If there is 8 of you it’s actually cheaper to book a taxi…Pre book. Mini golf was good.
The breakfast was very nice, my husband had a full English breakfast and I had a veggie breakfast and they were both delicious. The location is great, 50 yards to the beach, 200 yards to the pier and half a mile to Skegness centre. The County Hotel also has a good sized car park. The room was a good size, clean and the bed comfy -happy days!
Location as on route to Gibraltar Point Nature reserve and away from town centre
Theme of the hotel made it interesting and my daughter really liked it
The food was really good even though I ordered apple and rhubarb crumble and got apple crumble
My daughter said she would come back
Stayed for 3 nights. Very warm welcome from the owner. Room was fantastic, had everything you needed, was very clean and beds were really comfortable, had a great nights sleep. Location is a 5-10 minute walk to the seafront, very ideal. Would definitely stay again!
The staff at the hotel were brilliant fantastic service with a smile also especially the receptionist and a perfect location everything was with in walking distance of the hotel I do recommend and I will be staying at queens hotel again
Lovely surroundings full of geese and ducks. Breakfast was very good. Staff very helpful. Unfortunately, the flush on our toilet didn't work very well and water wouldn't drain from the bath. I would still return to this hotel though.
Everything! Simply a luxurious place to stay!
So many little things provided which were not expected!
Nice leisurely stroll to the town centre with plenty of places to eat and drink with easy access to the seafront.
A typical seaside B&B in an excellent location for access to the seafront & town centre. Good, unrestricted on street parking. Lovely, friendly & helpful owner. Good breakfast.
The breakfast was hot and just what you need to start the day, the hotel was a short walk away from the sea front and town centre, the staff was very friendly and helpful
