The location was ideal, being directly opposite Lincoln Castle and close to many bars and restaurants.

Very easy & swift check-in by a pleasant hostess in the bar reception.
The room was clean & had everything we needed for our overnight stay. Plenty of sockets everywhere, usb sockets on each side of the bed and amazingly a socket under the dressing table mirror for plugging in hair stylers etc (a hairdryer is provided anyway).
The bathroom was clean with plenty of towels including 2 large bath sheets.
We had a great nights sleep as the room had air con and was very quiet.
We didn’t eat breakfast so can’t comment on the food but there was plenty of tea/coffee and milk sachets for an early morning drink.
In summery, don’t expect lots of frills but you should have a comfortable stay.

The Lincoln Hotel is in a lovely position, right by the cathedral. There is plenty of parking at a reasonable price. The hotel rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are modern and clean. We booked two for our stay and both were very good. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Great pub up the road-The Dambusters that was full of interesting facts and items belonging to the R.A.F. Good meals served there. Try the fish and chips. The fish is so big it hangs over the side of the plate!!!!
Have a look around the church for more records of the war and the local heroes.
If you are going into Lincoln it is an easy run from Scampton.
In all, it was a wonderful stay at the cottage.
