With parts of the building dating back 700 years, this former coaching inn stands on the market square in the ancient city of Ripon, at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales.

Ripon is a wonderful place to visit - with lots to do. The Cathedral is stunning and the surrounding areas are equally as lovely.
Would definitely go back - you're only about 30 minutes from Harrogate, another jewel

Liked looking around the Cathedral.
Liked looking around the Cathedral.
Quite a lit of ordinary eateries but we liked Manchega.
If you like real ale go to the One Eyed Rat but it doesn't serve meals.
A number of shops and businesses have closed down and it's much like many towns these days.
It's a fantastic base for visiting Newby Hall, Fountains Abbey, RHS Harlow Carr and Thorp Perrow arboretum.

Ripon is a small city - very small, but it has some charming cobbled streets to explore and, of course, a beautiful cathedral which is well worth a visit. We were lucky enough to hear the choir practising when we stopped in. There are lots of cafes and restaurants in Ripon. On our recent mini-break, we ate at Claro Lounge, Mario's, Oliver's Pantry and The Royal Oak - all located in or near the Market Square - and would be happy to recommend all of them.

Lovely little city with lots if interesting places nearby to, good bus services if you don't want to use your car. A delight to see how proactive the residents are to decorate their city up for the forthcoming d day anniversary, it is a real credit go them. The nightly horn blowing ceremony is very interesting as well

The workhouse, victorian prison and the courthouse were fascinating. Also a beautiful Cathedral, lovely river walks parks. Excellent bus service to Harrogate and surrounding areas, all for £2.00 or bus pass. Nice places to eat and a very pretty little city. Would recommend as once there you don't need a car unless you want to explore further.

Ripon Cathedral was holding a Spring Fayre fundraiser - lots of stalls and a choir festival! There is a Museum walking Trail
There are independent places to eat and one of the larger chains in the market square which suited us!
Unfortunately the Spa Swimming Baths is closed - would've loved to see inside!
Ripon is beautiful small city based around market square & cathedral. Loads of small shops, restaurants and pubs. The house is newly fully refurbished located in a quiet residential street 5 mins walk from Market Square. Plenty of parking. The house is pristine. Particularly liked the open plan kitchen/dining area/living room where everyone could share time together. Ideal for family reunion. Every appliance/kitchen utensil & basic grocery provided.
Loved Ripon lots going on in the market square.
The accommodation was immaculately clean and extremely well equipped.
Spacious open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge area.
Two bedrooms, modern bathroom with shower over the bath.
All rooms were tastefully decorated with lovely, furnishings. Lots of special touches including welcome pack and toiletries.
A very comfortable enjoyable stay. Thank you.
Would love to stay again.
Chose the hotel for both location and price. Really good value for money. Bed was very comfy and room was clean with plentiful supply of tea and coffee. Had the carvery which was excellent with plenty of choice and again good value for money especially being over 55!! Staff were all lovely, helpful and welcoming
Absolutely everything. This place is amazing. You do not want for anything. It overlooks the square so we were right on top of the Army day proceedings.
Have stayed in a few places around Ripon for previous Army days and this is,
without doubt, the best and comfiest place I’ve stayed in EVER!
Lovely old building right in the centre of Ripon next to the Cathedral.
Huge rooms well decorated, staff were fantastic, really pleasant and helpful nothing too much trouble, food was fantastic too, the taster breakfast was great, really unexpected.
Good location very close to the centre of Ripon
Close to the canal for a walk
Breakfast was delicious! Italian 🇮🇹 breakfast - first of a kind anywhere we have stayed before - very impressed

Ticked all the boxes
Amy was so helpful, welcoming, warm and lovely. Everything a host should be.
It had a real homely feel to it and after 3 nights in various hotels/bnb's this was by far out favourite.
Top marks for comfort, decor, cleanliness and hosting!
Very clean and well appointed room. Convenient location walking distance into the centre of Ripon. Very good restaurant and bar facilities on site for meals. Would definitely stay again or at a hotel within the same group.
This was a perfect location for us visiting friends in the area. It was also very handy for the local pub less than 5 minutes away. Lovely rural location with easy access to Ripon and beyond.
