From the moment I walked into the Merrie Lion, I felt so safe and comfortable. I was to attend a wedding during my stay and I initially checked in as a lone female. The landlady (I cannot remember her name!!) was incredibly kind and welcoming - offering me advice on local taxis and offering me a chance to pop to the bar for a cheeky pre-wedding tipple. I was welcomed to all of the regulars in The Merrie Lion on the evening before I had my taxi and left feeling like one of their own! As an additional plus point, the breakfast the next morning was out of this world and certainly helped me in my hungover state the next day.
Set in the beautiful honeystoned thatched village of Wroxton, this privately owned award-winning hotel is 18 miles from the historic Stratford-upon-Avon and 21 miles from Warwick Castle.

Loved the odd shaped room/roof of the thatch property. Loads of character. Clean and comfy. Food was good

We liked everything about it . We didn't use the kitchen apart from making tea and coffee but it was very equipped. We didn't use the shower either but it was very clean. The outlook was great , we really enjoyed watching the animals and birds.
